I ordered through Uber Eats and the delivery was great. Unfortunately, the food was really not. So sorry I wasted over $50 on dinner, tax, delivery charge, tip, for tasteless hot and sour soup and boring Kung Pao Shrimp and vegetable fried rice. The crab Rangoon was decent. I do not like celery and wasn’t expecting my meal to consist of such a massive amount of that nasty and obnoxious vegetable (see pics). As the old joke goes, or in Reverse, rather—the food wasn’t tasty but there was a Lot of it. If you’re not picky and have a family to feed, the soup and Kung Pao dishes could each feed two. I know people are struggling, including small businesses, so I hate to leave a negative review, but sometimes the only way to create change is to communicate openly and honestly. It was a lot of money for mediocre food—definitely not worth it for us.

Man I wish I read the reviews before ordering. To start you can add $3 per dish from the menu online which I would have been fine with but the food was the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Appearance wise, I was somewhat fooled at first because it looked ok but the ‘Sweet & sour chicken’ was hard but by far the worst part of it was the oil tasted so old it is literally unbearable after a piece or two. It’s indescribable the after taste the food gives off. The shrimp fried rice and chicken lo-mein were so greasy it was almost like eating straight grease which those dishes tasted funny too. After eating some and still hungry, I wouldn’t feed it to a dog. I feel so disgustingly oily that I need a shower. I wouldn’t eat from here again if it were free, lesson learned. If you’re stupid enough to order from here, consider yourself warned!

I am very disappointed with my most recent order. My order was the lunch special since I did not want the pork fried rice, I asked for egg fried rice instead. To my surprise and disappointment there was an additional charge of $2.50. When questioned the charge, was advised due the price of eggs. My husband went next door to Publix and check the price of a carton of eggs at $6.73 for 18 large eggs. Now just to confirm, I’m paying for one egg when buying 18 eggs it’s $.38 an egg. Talk about price gauging…needless to stay after 7 years of being a customer, we have decided to boycott and never return. Shanghai and Tokyo, you should inform your customers of any additional charges so as a consumer we are aware of the price we chose to pay. This is not cool!!!

Well today I had a very bad experience with Shanghi. My order was delivered. When I got ready to fix everybody’s food. I noticed that the rice didn’t look like it was cooked right. The food was light yellow almost white and it tasted like water and looked like it was wet instead of stir fry. I called the store to tell them what happened and the young lady kept hanging up on me. Then she told me to bring the food back in . I explained to her that I didn’t have a car . I called back at least 3 times and she continued to hang up on me. I asked one of my neighbors to give me a ride there. The man that has the little salt and pepper hair offered to remake my order. The young lady came over after he went to have the food remade . She was very unprofessional, she told me not to come there to buy food again. I was in shock on how she handled the situation. I told her that I have been coming for years and I never had a problem .So I told the man to just give me my money back . They treated me so Bad . My food was only $39.64 . I have spent hundreds at their establishment and I was treated so, so bad because they didn’t fix my food right. To be honest they do not even deserve 1 star. That’s just...

Today was my first time visiting Shanghai and Tokyo Chinese Restaurant, and unfortunately, I left disappointed.

The woman at the front with the short bob hairstyle was not very pleasant—in fact, she came off as quite dismissive. The way my order was handled felt careless, almost personal.

That said, the food itself was surprisingly good. I ordered the special fried rice with chicken wings, and both were flavorful. The egg roll was especially delicious.

Still, the poor customer service really took away from the experience. I understand that working long hours can be stressful, but how you represent your business matters—especially when interacting with first-time customers.

I assume it’s a family-owned establishment, but there’s definitely room for improvement on the customer service front. Because of the way I was treated, I didn’t leave a tip. I simply wasn’t impressed by the hospitality.

That said, I might give it another try just for the food—it was easily top 5. But based on today’s experience, I can only...

I placed my order through grubhub at 5:17. It was confirmed through an email at 5:35. My order was supposed to be delivered at 6:30. I called the restaurant at 7 and they told me they were having technical difficulties and did I still want my food. They apologize but it wasn't sincere. They told me to give them 20 minutes to prepare my food. It arrived in 20 minutes. So therefore they had my food ready but not delivered. This is very sad because I order from them all the time and never went through this. Had I not called my food would still be sitting there. I'm very angry right now.

Update December 31st: just got my food and worst customer service ever. They knocked on the door once. I kept saying who is it but no one answered. I opened the door and my food was sitting on the ground. The delivery person left my food out in the opening on the FREAKING Ground. That was so disrespectful and I am going to report this to the head...
