Our server, Aleksandr, was friendly, helpful & knowledgeable about food being offered.
We ordered two Amaretto Sours ($12 each). Besides the Amaretto liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a maraschino cherry, I tasted a hint of pineapple. I may be wrong, but it was the best version I've had yet.
Our appetizer was the Shanghai Shrimp ($18) shared. A lightly battered and fried order of jumbo shrimp tossed in a sweet & spicy sauce, served with a side of ponzu. The shrimp was coated in a perfectly seasoned sauce (maybe a mayo base) with a little sweet and a little heat and served with a tangy dipping ponzu sauce (soy sauce, citrus juices, mirin, and spices). We loved every bite.
Husband ordered the 16oz Ribeye and a baked potato with butter and cheddar cheese ($40). He likes his steak cooked to a Medium-Well and it was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The potato was a giant and cooked to a perfectly light and fluffy texture.
I ordered ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon Fromage, topped with Roquefort, wrapped in bacon with a stuffed baked potato ($44). The steak was cooked to a medium rare + (almost a medium) with perfectly crispy bacon wrapped around the steak. I swear it was wrapped with at least three pieces of bacon. Yum. The potato was a half slice of a baked potato scooped out and combined with butter, sour cream, cheddar, bacon, and chives, re-stuffed into the potato shell then covered in cheese and baked until hot and the cheese had melted. I highly recommend you get this side with whatever steak you order here.
Drinks were kept filled and our food arrived hot & delicious. We loved every single bite. Sadly we didn't get a dessert because we couldn't eat another bite. And we took home leftovers.
I can't wait to go back and...
Read moreIf I could give a 0 star I would. I went here Saturday in hopes to have brunch for my birthday. A reservation had been made for 8 people days prior. When I arrived, I was not greeted by the hostess. I took a seat with members of my party as we waited for everyone to arrive. The hostess, after being asked, told the guest that arrived first that the table wasn't ready 10 minutes or so prior to my arrival. As more guests came the hostess did not greet or acknowledge anyone in my party or give updates as to when the table would be ready. After being there for 30 minutes or so, a guest from my party asked about our reservation. The hostess prepared a small round table for us near the entrance. The table looked as if it would only seat 4 people. They pulled mismatched chairs from somewhere and placed them at the table. A member of my party asked if we could have a larger table or if we could have 2 tables together. The hostess didn't even acknowledge the suggestion. She had no solution. The manager came up and didn't offer much of a solution either. They asked if we wanted to have 4 guests at a booth and 4 guests at another table 20+ feet away. They were rude and spoke in a condescending tone. Had we been told at the time the reservation was made that they couldn't accommodate us, we would have chosen another restaurant. We left and went to another restaurant that greeted us, made us feel welcome and accommodated our party of 8. We enjoyed the restaurant and should have went there initially. This was my first time visiting Bricktop and I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and service...
Read moreI’m BIG on customer service. I had a experience that I don’t think I will return. Our waitress skipped over us meaning me and another friend who is African American. We literally tried to give her the benefit of the doubt saying to ourselves she having a bad day because we do understand it. She didn’t offer us anything & was taking our appetizer from the table without asking if we were finished. Literally grabbed a plate off the table and my friend grabbed the other end saying we aren’t finished... She blew out a sigh saying your food is coming. Never coming back to refill our water until we mentioned it to her manager and he refuted the situation as though what I said was invalid. She offered the tables right next to me dessert and held small talk but never came back to our table. I don’t experience prejudice often but you could feel this lady had a problem with US. Her name was Savanna & her manager Michael looked at us like we had 4 heads. I have a great friend who comes to this location often with clients. I told her about my visit and she described this young lady exactly. She said this young lady was rude to her also & her African American friends. I will not tolerate this & will spend my “black coins” somewhere that it’s appreciated. I did contact corporate but haven’t heard a response. If you don’t like people of other cultures, you shouldn’t work in an environment that opens you up to working with people that don’t look like you. I refuse to let it get to me but want to warn others who have the same complexion as me. Food was great but it ruined...
