We came in at exactly 9:15 p.m. on a Friday night. There was a band playing, sounded pretty good. The girl at the reception desk asked us where we wanted to sit because we were going to have a dinner. A younger girl took us and set us right next to the people eating a big meal. I asked if we could sit the next table over, so there was a table in between us. We sat on the back side of the bar. Are waitress came up who seemed nice and introduced herself named journey. Journey did a horrible job being our waitress. I ordered a cranberry juice which was horribly mixed because it tasted like it came out of a bag and was incredibly strong. I asked her for another juice she said that was fine but it's orange juice and comes from concentrate. That's okay it would have been more tolerable but I didn't expect it to taste also horribly mixed. I told her that's okay I'll deal with it. My wife ordered one of their fancy mixed drinks. Barely had any alcohol in it and was very pricey. Long story short there's girl named Journey was a terrible waitress, giving us these side looks and me and looks as I caught her walking out of the kitchen looking at us like that. She ignored us multiple times, blatantly, tried to get her back to our table but you could tell she could care less. Another waitress with blonde hair, look like she knew what she was doing came and helped us. We ordered a clam dish with tons of clams on top and she didn't bring us anything to put the clams on so we had to set them on the table. We tried to get her attention multiple times but she just didn't care. She was several tables back towards the restroom with about five other people with some guy hand counting money. She literally stood there for close to 10 minutes without turning around and even looking at any customers. I mean she was incredibly rude, doing a horrible job and not attending to our needs. There is no way this was an accident. Then she got mad when I didn't want her to walk away with my credit card and wanted to go up to pay at the register. She told me it wasn't possible and that she had her little handheld thing she wouldn't touch while I paid with my card there. The amount of tip on the machine did not match the amount of tip a certain percentage would have equaled on the receipt. So even though she gave terrible service did not help us and purposely ignored us, I left her an eight dollar tip. So she says I'll go get your receipt and walks away about 5 ft and is standing next to a pole having this big conversation with several other people. So we waited there for a few minutes and she's still just standing there with her back to us not doing anything. The other waitress went and got us boxes for our food. So we got our food and I'm walking towards her and I say can I have my receipt. She ignores me and turns and walks away again. I follow her over to their area and ask her again when some guy push the button the receipt came out and he gave it to me. I got no thanks come again good to have you hope you enjoyed your food or anything like that. This is Friday night the band was still playing, just wrapping up. If I'd known she was going to be like that I would not have left her one cent. I hope you are fired because you do not deserve to work there! I mean I understand if you have a bad day you're ready to get out of there but you know you had plenty of time and purposely ignored us multiple times and had a sour look on your face when you thought we weren't looking. The table next to us had a big pile of food still and we were almost done so don't use that as an excuse either. This was our first time there and I thought the place was awesome, I still do but when people like that are employed there obviously the management needs more training. We will be back but definitely not in your section, if you're even there anymore. If you were a good waitress you would have gotten a fat tip. You know what you were doing so I will make sure to leave reviews on multiple food event and tourism websites since that's what you're into. Not a...
Read moreWhen we got there we was told it would be 45 minutes wait, which was fine. Told we could wait in 3 different areas and the tiki bar area does starters so we went there to wait for a table for dinner. We found an empty table that had high chairs around a tree we sat down chose what we wanted to eat and drink and a rude woman then came over and told us we couldn't just sit down ourself and we had to move. We said we was waiting on a table and was told we could come here for starters, she replied well you can't we asked where can we go then and she replied you can only use the white deck chair (which there was non in this area) otherwise move to another waiting area. We walked to another area and there was no seating available anywhere but there was lots of empty tables which we was not allowed to sit it. We had 7 people in our group 1 of which was disabled and couldn't stand for a long amount of time and we had 3 children. We finally found a white deck chair to sit down at after a nice couple gave up their chairs. 55 minutes later we got the call for our table in the main seating area. Service started off good and starters were ordered and came in an OK time. We than ordered our 4 main meals. They took we over an hour and a half to arrive. We asked a numerous amount of times where our meals were and was continuously told they are coming now. When the meals finally arrived they only brought 3 out I had to ask where the other burger was and was told again its coming now. The meals that arrived first were stone cold and dry. We waited for our server to come back and he came with The last burger which was freshly made and hot and freshly made. We complained about the first 3 meals and was offered to have these remade the time was now nearly 9pm and the children were getting tired and restless after being there over 4 hours. We refused this amd the manager said she would take the mains off the bill and offer a 50% discount. Even this was not much of an apology for the bad experience we had during our visit. I think you need to re look at your waiting areas and service times as this is not good at all. Poor service, poor waiting times, in such a lovely area which could be a lovely family...
Read moreLet me start by saying, crumps was highly recommended to me by many people I've met after moving to citrus county. I had some very high expectations. Not all of them were met. I'll start with the pros though.
The live music, what we heard of it, was great!
The drink menu is huge, delicious and decently priced for the location and atmosphere. The pineapple served rum daiquiri was impressive.
The venue itself is awesome, really nicely decorated and comfortable.
The staff is amazing, very friendly and attentive, not understaffed in the slightest.
Food and drinks were quick to come out.
Really nice little gift shop with alot of fun trinkets and photos to hang, nice bathrooms.
Now unfortunately I do have some cons.
We arrived Sunday night around 6 pm after a long drive only to find out we just caught the last of the live music for the night. Not a huge deal but we figured that would at least go until 7pm when they remain open until 10pm.
The menu was "limited" and quite limited at that, luckily we were all able find foods that we wanted but one of our party members almost could not eat due to it.
The food was ok, I guess I was expecting more after some bangers like dunnelons blue gator and swampys. The gator bites were decent, only a few chewy pieces, great batter. Bang bang shrimp were the star of the show, delicious. The burger was ok, nothing special but not bad, could be better seasoned. The two prime rib steak sandwiches were good, the steak was thin but well seasoned. We preferred it without the bread which didn't seem to really fit the steak. Great ranch and tartar dipping sauces though, good fries. Salad seemed fine but I did not try it myself.
With that said the pros far outweigh the cons but due to it being 35 mins away we will likely only go for events going forward and probably avoid the limited Sunday service. 4 stars and maybe after another go on a weekday it...
