HanaPa'a Market — Restaurant in Honolulu

Was loving this place until it broke my heart. The people are great, BUT they removed an item from the menu that USED to have me driving 20 miles from the Salt Lake area to eat it. The item was the Ahi tuna fish sandwich. This buggah was made with fresh ahi instead of the canned stuff. Being fresh made the sandwich da winnah for sure. It was loaded with everything and sooo ono. The owner said, "lack of popularity". It is sadly still on the menu so be careful. I hope they still don't offer the chicken salad sandwich, that would make nooo sense at all being a fish eatery and removing the ahi tuna sandwich. I was hoping the owner would whip some up because, I mean they have choke ahi there and should only take a few minutes. Sadly though, like last time he did it, he did not this time. Oh well, looks like I won't be making that 20 mile drive anymore....

Very fresh and delicious- a great local guy bringing very fresh and delicious poke and lots more to Hawaii Kai (no Times or Foodland - got to go 10-15 miles). Safeway tries but misses-this is the answer- plus supporting local small biz! My fav is the spicy mayo poke on really delicious green salad with added miso dressing. The rice and all is great- I’m just going low carb and the salad is always fresher than I can buy at Safeway- so big winner! There are sandwiches and more-check it out! Very family friendly place- that is why HanaPaa market was opened : inspiration came from looking where to get quick highest quality poke and other grinds for this owner’s HK family after they spent the day fishing or the beach… without having to go to Aina Haina or Kahala. Perfect for taking out to family...

HanaPa'a Market is the true definition of a hidden gem! What a delightful surprise to stumble upon this little spot when got hungry on our drive and decided to choose the first food place we see.

Don't let the few dine-in seats fool you, for a small eatery, they offer a lot of menu options.

We chose the spicy mayo ahi (fresh not frozen) poke bowl with avocado and their blackened ahi burger. We paired the food with cans of POG and passion fruit drinks.

Both items were beyond delicious! It was the freshest ahi we had ever had. The flavors in the burger were so well put together. We highly recommend the ahi burger!
