JAY'S SUSHI — Restaurant in Honolulu

I'll start by saying that I absolutely love the food here. Five stars for that. I mean, have you tried their grilled garlic salmon? It's so good it could probably convince a lifelong vegetarian to reconsider their life choices. Seriously, it's delicious! Their rolls are good too. However, what I'm not as enthusiastic about is the time it takes to get your food. We waited a good half an hour today for our meal, and it was a to-go order with nobody else in the place. Déjà vu hit me hard because the same thing happened when I was here in April. Honestly, I have more success ordering from them through Uber Eats, which seems ironic, doesn't it?

That being said, if you have the time to spare, it's definitely worth the visit. The customer service has always been friendly, which makes the wait a bit more bearable. On a sweeter note, they also have some amazing desserts. My new favorite? The Ube brownie. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out--it's a purple...

The food was good, made fresh to order. Very cute motifs, clean dining area, had places to sit inside. The only reason it gets three stars is because we waited 45 minutes for one of our bentos and an order of dumplings. When I got up to ask, they had completely forgotten about the order. The best sushi on Oahu, hands down! Was on vacation but ended up eating at Jay's 3x during our trip. Well worth it. The menu is huge and the bento boxes super full! Their spicy ahi might be the best I have ever had. Also be sure to grab a red velvet cake pop for dessert....
