An island staple for garlic chicken, along with Mitsu- Ken. Huge bentos, daily deals.

UH/HCC student discount with valid ID.

Every table has a huge Sani-Hands dispenser on the table. Love this! Everyone here automaatically uses them to wipe down their tables, so no sticky tables/chairs!

Food is legit local food, and great value for the money--check out the pics. Chicken is served in huge chunks, battered well, seasoned well, and very, very generous portions. Fry is hard--the pride of a solid crunch is a real thing here. Bentos all served over a bed of white or brown rice; you can substitute yakisoba or fried rice for the white/brown steamed rice, but at $4 per large bento it's pricey. The yakisoba is good, though.

The owner works the front, and also cooks. Still the same guy; love that.

Free drink refills.

Ask for the bathroom key at the register. Bathrooms are right after the Thai restaurant sign, on the right (glass door with a paper sign that says "bathrooms"). Clean facilities.

Highchairs available--a lot of families come here since you can feed 4 people with 2 bentos or plate lunches (salad option on the plate lunch!)

Park in the parking lot adjacent--there are too few stalls for the angled parking in the little strip mall where the restaurant actually is and if you aren't lucky enough to score a spot, you've got to go all the way around the block. Save yourself some stress and park in the big lot and walk a little. The walk will feel good afterwards, trust me.

Accepts credit cards. No free Wi-Fi.

Clientele are mostly local families, community college students, working guys having lunch, and pretty much everybody in between. It's not a fancy joint, but it is comfort Island food like Waikiki is never going to get right. Recommend. Down a star for the early closing--get here before 2p or it's not so great. C'mon...please think about being open for dinner, man! ;) So...

Sugoi Bento & Catering is absolutely FABULOUS!! We ordered bentos during COVID for a family members funeral. The bentos were big, fresh, and plentiful. We ordered the Regular Bento 9.5" (black container) We got to build our own. It included white rice, noodles, chicken, mahi mahi, and Teri beef. Sugoi's will be able to accommodate any of your catering/bento needs. We ordered 250 bentos... Sugoi's did a fantastic job..( September 2021)

(August 2022) We called Sugoi's to order food for my brother's funeral at the Valley of the Temples. Once again, they did a FABULOUS job!! They came out and delivered the food, and everything was hot and fresh. The prices were so reasonable. If you ever need your party, funeral, or gathering catered or just need good food. Give Sugoi's Bento & Catering a call. You can also go online and check out their catering info!! Great food! Great Service! Great people at Sugoi's Bento and...

I wanted to like this place. I like to support hole-in-the-wall local dives and unpretentious cuisine. Nothing wrong with simple and good. Fried stuff with shoyu and rice and mac salad, bring it! So it was with optimism that I waddled into Sugoi today.

First thing that hit me was the lack of ventilation. Air was kinda oily-smokey, but the place was full of happily chomping construction workers and locals, so, let that slide.

We ordered spicy garlic chicken and fried mahi plate lunches. The portions were generous... more than even a pig like me could finish. The spicy garlic sauce was good. The chicken batter however tasted vaguely soapy and was excessively oily. I had to take off the batter to avoid the greasy unpleasant batter. My gallbladder twitched nervously. The fried fish was thickly breaded and kinda bland. It came with lemon and tartar sauce, which didn't do much...

We’ve had sugoi’s garlic chicken before, which everyone knows about, and felt like trying some other goodies. Ended up getting a lot of food, more than we could finish! They have a special “value” item each day of the week and we got the Saturday item Sugoi wrap (about $3 less than regular price) with Portuguese sausage and then with spam and both had a good portion of those meats. Those wraps were HUGE! We also ordered the yakisoba noodles with teri beef and only ate half! I chose something lighter with the oriental salad and garlic ahi and received a massive serving of chopped lettuce topped with colorful garnishes. (the garlic ahi has the same garlic sauce as their chicken) Overall we were impressed with the amount of food and liked the variety of options from breakfast-y to local to lighter healthy.

When we pulled up to the restaurant, we could tell it was going to be good. The parking lot was crowded, but we were willing to walk if it meant getting our hands on some of that delicious-looking tonkatsu. We made our way inside and ordered the small plate lunch, which came with two full meals worth of food. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tonkatsu was even better. We ended up taking the food to go and heading down to the dock, where we enjoyed our lunch with a view. All in all, it was a great experience. The food was delicious and affordable, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great lunch spot.

The food is absolutely delicious here. I always get the ahi loco moco with gravy on the side. The customer service is quick and friendly. They have amazing options of different types of delicious food. I usually only come here for the ahi loco moco. It's my absolute favorite plate lunch I have ever tried. The ahi is fried to perfection. It's packed full of flavor and the gravy takes it to another level. It also comes with a scoop of Mac salad or tossed salad. The prices are also very affordable with the amount of food you get. Overall great place to get delicious affordable food. The ambiance is warm and friendly.
