Great vegan fare and great customer service. Takeaway is probably the most convenient but eat-in is best for this food. Innovative menu with very interesting options (careful if you're gluten-intolerant). Portions are huge and sharable. The food is generally gorgeous; colorful and texture-rich.
Skip the red velvet latte. Grainy and doesn't taste at all like the name. Clever use of beets, though.
Their version of a crunch wrap is very good. Not always available, get it if you can. Their grill/flat-top char is outstanding.
They do sell out of popular items, so go early. The food takes a while to prepare (as it should), so be prepared to wait a little.
Prices are extremely good for what you get, in quality and quantity. Surprising and satisfying.
Wish they were in a bigger space with better parking. A newer shop or better layout would help sanitation.
Don't bring your stroller. Also, no handicapped access. The tables are too tight to maneuver any wheelchair or mobility device.
No bathroom access I could see, but didn't need it during the visit.
Not a lot of seating. You may have to wait outside to be seated.
The front of the house needs decluttering and cleaning. Random chairs stacked on the side and covered in dust aren't great dining companions.
Parking is typical Waialae no-parking. 3 stalls in front of the shop are never available and on-street parking is taken up by residents who don't use their garage or carport for their car. Be prepared to walk a long way.

Read moreI don't get it. Walking in- you get no instructions as to the concept. It's basically a cold deli case with sandwiches that you have to ask to be heated up. Also in the case are less appealing items like cold oatmeal for $4.50. There are a few tables to your right, but half of them have baked goods and boxes on them. I ordered a 'ginger tea' and was brought black tea. I said this is black tea and someone had to come from the back, then handed me a rammekin full of tea to taste, like a guinea pig, to taste if it was Ginger, it was not, it was more black tea ( I can't handle caffeine btw). Then I was told that it WAS black tea but it has Ginger flavor, which was not noticable. I was offered no further solution. My jackfruit sandwich was covered in mayo, made my stomach feel not so great. This is a message to the owner: people want easy and familiar : there shouldn't be confusion while trying to order lunch. Simple ideas like : how does this work? Should I seat myself? Is there a menu? Am I supposed to eat cold food? Believe it or not, this is the essence of front of the house, and first impressions. As a vegan that lives in the neighborhood, I'll keep stopping by to see if anything changes, but I'll save my 10$ on a plastic wrapped sandwich. Good luck. (Three stars only because it's vegan...
Read moreThis is high vibrational eating!! I love the energy of this fully plant based restaurant. The staff is so wonderful and personable. The chef is constantly changing the menu with new and beautiful dishes. I loved the salad I got - so fun! It had loads of veggies, pineapple, Cabbage based, maple-covered nuts, Sprouts, sweet Peas, topped with lil rice crunchies and mustard seed caviar. A texture and taste bud playground!
The Ulu pancake is OK. It's a little heavy for me, but I so enjoyed the presentation.
The WAFFLE they served in September WAS THE BEST VEGAN WAFFLE ON THE PLANET. It was dressed like a Cinnabon - with a nut based cream cheese frosting and syrup and fruit. Me and my girlfriend split one and we were very satiated and full for hours. It felt so good to eat.
They also serve fun lattes and lemonades. Great for dine in or take out. Ya'll are...
