Wish there was negative stars!! The worst shaved ice experience mind you a tip was even left for these rude girls who stated their name was "Rachel" and "Lauren." I paid over $9 for this small shaved ice since I added mochi balls and condensed milk. After receiving my shaved ice not even 3 doors down my shaved ice turns to soup! I go back and inform Rachel who then states "shaved ice melts pretty fast cause it's ice shaved down." I told her I'm from the island so I know what shaved ice is and this is the worst I've ever had being a matter of minutes now soup!! Rachel then states "maybe there was to much syrup." Okay yes maybe but then Rachel then comes up with this brilliant idea, add more ice to my original shaved ice soup and flip it over?! I questioned her regarding her brilliant idea on saving her company money on ice and asked her to just make me a new one. She told me "I don't believe I can and I would have to charge you." I was in disbelief paying an extra $4 for condensed milk and $2 for mochi for this order which is now soup mixed with this shaved ice syrup!! The mochi that is supposed to be underneath the shaved ice is obviously now on top due to Rachel's brilliant idea. Mind you she was the one who made the original shaved ice that turned to soup. So with this being said go down the road and visit Uncle Clay's shaved ice. He provides much better shaved ice and customer service.

We were looking for shave ice to quench our thirst after the Koko crater hike and stumbled upon Kokonuts shave ice. Located a short drive away in an outdoor strip mall called Koko Marine Center, my kids really enjoyed the shave ice here. The ice was soft and syrup very sweet which they both prefer. Very affordable, a medium shave ice was $4 and we requested ice cream in the middle for an extra $1 which was creamy and delicious. Fast friendly service and many celebrities have visited in the past. Minimum $10 for credit card or debit card usage. Also don’t miss the Leonard’s malasada truck also located in the same parking lot.

Okay so this place has a lot of high reviews, it's a high-profile Area, and is even recommended by Obama allegedly. All of that holds no merits with me we simply were driving by and had a sweet tooth to satisfy. Boy am I glad we did this was the best Shave Ice we have ever tasted. The girls that make the ice are very sweet and nice and it's in a beautiful downtown district outside of Honolulu right next to Koko's Mountain

We usually have such a positive experience with we visit this local shave iced shop but lately we've noticed the quality has been dwindling. The last time we were there with a group of about 11, we were greeted with not-so-excited workers. They seemed annoyed that there were so many of us and asked the kids to leave the store. We understand that its a very small shop and space is limited but pleasant tones go a long way. The kids ordered small rainbow shave ice and they ALL added mochi to their bowls. Upon trying the shave ice and mochi combination, we detected a peculiar taste. I grew up eating mochi so am very familiar with what it's supposed to taste like. I also am aware of how quickly mochi can spoil. The mochi was obviously spoiled and tasted moldy. We notified the girl at the front who responded by saying that the mochi is made fresh daily. We weren't requesting a refund but just kindly letting them know that they should refresh their batch of mochi. Still we were left with no acknowledgment by the staff and adamant replies that there was nothing wrong with the mochi. The shave ice is not cheap and it was not an inexpensive trip but we will definitely think twice about visiting here again. Next time we may just opt for a simple jamba juice or starbucks drink instead. We want to support local businesses but had a hard time reconciling the poor...

Ordered a small shave ice for my daughter. Discovered it came with ice cream and som sort of mushy globs on the bottom. It melted incredibly fast and she was unable to finish it and didn’t like it. We went back to see if we had received the wrong order. I asked if they all come with ice cream on the bottom and she said no. I told her that I thought we received the wrong item. She said, “I made what you ordered.” I replied that I didn’t order the ice cream on the bottom and wondered if we could get a new one since my daughter didn’t even enjoy it. She repeated again that she made what I ordered. I chose this place based on an itinerary recommendation. Should’ve read the reviews someone else had with the service. Train your employees to be kind. It goes a long way. I felt like I was in the wrong when I wasn’t. How much does it cost to make a new pile of ice with some artificial flavored syrup?? Save your money and go to Kawaii Ice Wave. Much...
