Teddy's Bigger Burgers - Hawaii Kai — Restaurant in Honolulu

Apparently, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers is like the Five Guys of O’ahu. I’d always seen it around but finally tried it out on this visit to the island. We were looking for a quick lunch after snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, so this Hawaii Kai location was perfect. We got there at around 12:30 on a Wednesday and it didn’t seem too busy.

If you want a burger, you first choose the size you want - big (1/4 pound), bigger (1/2 pound) or biggest (1 pound). If you want one of their specialty creations, each has its own up charge. I went with the big Waikiki (teri burger, bacon, hash brown, cheddar) and BF had the bigger Kaneohe (Garlic seasoning, avocado, bacon, cheddar). Can’t forget the side of garlic butter fries. We had everything with a side of their special sauce, which reminds me of Shake Shack’s shack sauce.

I think I would have liked my burger better if it wasn’t teri. The sweetness was a bit weird for me. It was also really greasy but I guess this is expected since it has both bacon and hash browns. We both thought the same about the Kaneohe. The fries were literally sitting in a pool of oil towards the end. We both felt super stuffed and sluggish afterwards. On top of that, it’s pretty expensive for a fast food type joint. Our total for everything, no drinks, came out to over $30. You can definitely get a better burger at a sit down restaurant. I’m glad we got to try it, so now we don’t have to come...

As you read this review please keep in mind that in my personal opinoion, customer service matters the most when it comes to food service business. Here's how my take out order experience went with them. I ordered the kaneohe burger combo and a milkshake 2 . 4 other customers made their order after I have. 8 minutes later my shake came out. 10 minutes in, the customer that ordered right after me received his order 13 minutes in the second person after I ordered got her order I went up to one of the staff and asked if David's order had come out already, he simply said no, it's in the kitchen. After 20 minutes 4 people ordered after I did got their order and had left. 25 minutes in I finally got my order of one kaneohe burger combo

You might say maby they were busy. It was 8 at night. There was one couple dining in and about 5 staffs working. I don't know how making a burger could possibly take close to 30 minutes and why I was served after 4 people that placed their order after I did.

I did not receive any explanation as to why it was late and I didn't bother to ask as I will not be going back there...

I'm not sure if the rude man that threatened to leave a horrible review is leaving it on here or Yelp. If you see a bad review complaining about a long wait time for an undercooked burger, disregard that sad excuse of a human being. The people at this Teddy's cooked me an absolutely delicious burger, with fantastic service on top of it. Don't listen to that other guy, he was having a bad day and letting his negativity affect everyone else. He needs some milk. Also, his haircut was really bad.

For those curious, this man had the audacity to come back into the store to throw his half eaten burger at the employees while continuously yelling profanities at them. We are in and have been in a pandemic, and for him to take and throw food he had previously bitten into is not only incredibly disrespectful, but a health concern not only to the workers but also the patrons of this restaurant. If I were in a management position at Teddy's, I would 86 this man as that constitutes assault, and that kind of behavior just should not...
