My husband and I just tried Tucker’s for the first time a few days ago. It was a Sunday so we were expecting a wait as the weekends are typically busy for restaurants like this. It was packed! We were not given an expectation of wait time, but we didn’t ask because we don’t care- if we got sick of waiting we would have left. We actually like taking the wait time to observe new places and get a feel for the environment and the staff. We only waited about 35 minutes and in that time we made some observations.
The hostess and bussers were on point. The moment a table opened up they were at it clearing it. And not the moment the previous guests set the check down- they respectfully waited until they left and then turned the table around in seconds and then another table was able to be sat. The hostess and bussers were younger ladies and in my experience (I am a lady in my mid twenties and have been subjected to this before) that can sometimes be perceived that they are not knowledgeable, they are lazy, or they are inexperienced. These ladies were extremely proficient and extremely professional. Anyone that approached them with a question or complaint about wait times received a composed and professional response.
We ended up being seated at the counter (bar area) which was fine with us and the server behind the counter, Gabby, was really wonderful. She handled at least half the counter, taking phone calls, and dealing with take out orders flawlessly and still somehow managed to make conversation with us since it was our first time there and we had a few questions about the menu. We never once felt rushed even when Gabby handed us the check and said “no rush” which usually actually means “please leave soon.”
The food was absolutely incredible. I got the Sedona Skillet and my husband got the Apple Caramel French Toast and everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were incredible. We actually loved it so much that we ordered take out the next morning! I got the same thing again and my husband got Buckley’s Brie and Bacon breakfast sandwich which he absolutely loved as well! Their smoothies are also really good as well as their coffee!
All of the staff was extremely nice to not only guests but also to each other. The kitchen staff worked very well with the serving staff and vise versa. Everyone was always doing something and a moment wasn’t wasted.
The only thing we disliked which was no fault of the restaurant itself as that we were sitting at the end of the bar next to the door and people decided to wait right in that area and were literally leaning against the bar and getting in our space, particularly my husbands. I mean some random guy was practically breathing on my husbands food. Seeing as it is winter and no one wants to be outside, having more indoor waiting space may be helpful.
We have found a new favorite and can’t wait until our next...
Read moreI’m a very busy single mom so I have gotten take out here a couple of times. The first time both my order and my sons order were both wrong and today I decided to try again because I hadn’t eaten in almost 24 hours and just needed something quick but didn’t want Dunkin’ Donuts. I should have gone to Dunkin’ Donuts. I ordered the Kevin’s classic with an extra egg, Canadian bacon and a side of maple syrup. I didn’t receive the extra egg or maple syrup and the bacon is all fat. I have been a bartender for 15 years and I have many shifts where I run the entire front of house on my own including all the tables on top of the bar so I typically don’t ever leave reviews unless they are good ones because I understand and I also ALWAYS tip very well even on a $15 bill I just left them $5. I didn’t even sit at a table. The girls working front of house were very sweet but I think they need to be a bit more attentive and I think kitchen staff needs to focus on reading their tickets especially when a customer pays for something extra. I have this problem with my kitchen staff on a regular basis and I can’t stress it enough. Read the damn tickets!! lol I have a photo of how sad my sandwich looked. Looked like half an egg. Currently trying to upload it. If I wanted just an English muffin alone I would have ordered only an...
Read moreI woke up with a craving for the Power Cakes which I get everytime in addition to any meal eveytime we order here and we order here a lot. We’re always so happy. I ordered blueberry, gluten free powercakes, red quinoa hash browns, and housefries. Typically this joint is the place for breakfast and lunch in this area. It’s local, flavorful and perfectly cooked. ALWAYS. When you want quality you go here, well we do anyway. Okay so today is July 3 the day before a big holiday and they must have been busy today or something because our food was not the way it normally is. Everything was either burnt, or undercooked and smelled burnt. I’m calling this food inedible. I’m not giving them a onestar because I don’t believe their food is 1 star quality. It’s 5 star in my opinion and they just had a rough day. We’re not eating any of this food but we’re not going and complaining to them nor are we asking for a refund. They just had a bad day. I wish there was a way of knowing that our food would have come out the way it did today but there wasn’t and it is what it is. They still have my business but maybe we get any more online orders from them again because I don’t think this food would ever leave the kitchen and been sent out this the...
