Great addition to the Hoover Met area. This place had changed hands and with different cuisines over the years, but the right people have bought it and the menu and service is top notch. I called to ask if they had sake, and they don’t have the license yet, but they informed me that you can bring in your own bottle of wine or beverage of choice, and it’s not a problem. Thought that was very cool.
As for food, I tried an appetizer called Volcano Spoons. (Baked spicy crabmeat, avocado, wrapped in salmon. I was skeptical as it is cooked and I don’t care for over cooked seafood. So glad I took a chance, it was freaking amazing. Highly recommend this app!!
Also had a lobster roll that is not on the menu, at the suggestion of Johnny the server. Always a sucker for the secret menu. Again, amazing, huge roll, but delicious! Again, highly recommend!
It’s definitely worth your time to stop in and try this place out, you will be surprised!
FYI, I brought my own bottle of Austin Hope Cabernet, and they opened it and they don’t charge you a corkage fee. So, until they get their license squared away,...
Read moreLoved the Kani Salad which has fresh cucumber julienne, crab, and finished with crunchy tempura bits. The Dragon Roll was delicious and the highlight for me was the eel sauce was not too sweet or syrupy which you find at many sushi joints. In addition, the Roll Tide roll is a great choice with fresh red snapper and topped with a thin slice of jalapeño giving a touch of spice. Lastly. I can't leave out the Spring rolls! A surprise to be filled with tender chicken making this appetizer even more delicious and served with a side of very flavorful sweet chili sauce.
The staff was so friendly and the owner, Peter, came by to check on everything. You can tell they take pride in the food prep and presentation and have a passion for serving the public...
Read moreWe attended their soft opening where we got a sneak peek of what is to come when they officially open later in the month. Every dish, from the beautifully presented sushi rolls to the perfectly executed main course , was a delight and showcased the chefs attention to detail. The menu has been updated and offers many options from sushi rolls, poke bowls to full course dinners. The service was impeccably attentive, with knowledgeable staff guiding us through the menu and ensuring our every need was met. The ambience was comfortable but was told it is still a work in progress as they work on more improvements as they get closer to their grand opening. With what we experienced, I'm sure this restraunt will not disappoint when they fully open!...
