I’ve only gone twice. First time we sat inside and we ordered three donuts and it took forever to “deliver” them when they could have done it at time of sale. And then they got the order wrong. Of course being there allowed us to get it corrected. Today I went in and ordered take out. Got home and they once again got the order wrong. $32 for a dozen donuts is ridiculous to begin with but when only 9 are correct, it kind of doesn’t sit well. But then it’s only donuts so I’m not going to let it ruin my day. For those that haven’t tried HERO in Hoover, they have two classes of donuts and it is rather confusing because there is no sign/indication as to which is which. I really just wanted eight donuts and got talked into a dozen because it was supposedly cheaper. I ended up with eight of their “standard” donuts and four of their “specialty” donuts which drove my cost way up apparently and then three of them were the wrong ones. Please HERO, just make it easy. And train your people. They do not seem to know what...
Read moreI stopped in this morning and got 2.5 dozen donuts, plus a couple just for me. I was impressed, as I pulled up there is plenty of parking, walking in the door I was impressed with the lay out, how clean and organized the location is. They have roll up garage doors for warmer weather, custom HERO t-shirts and hats for purchase that were really cool. I travel for work and try to stay away from chain donuts due to poor quality, and they are usually just thawed, hard and taste like cardboard. I love local places, HERO checked all the boxes. I loved how creative they are with the fall-Halloween themed donuts. I had a pumpkin spice, and WOW was it good. It had a cream cheese frosting inside that reminded me of my mom's pumpkin log roll...but better. Service was quick, and polite. My customer loved the donuts, creativity, and packaging. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to AL, and stopping in at HERO for a fresh, delicious...
Read more. I tried Hero Doughnuts for the first time & I was highly disappointed. I ordered the loaded hash browns $9.50 & added on chicken which was an additional $3, fine. $14-15 total. When I received my order this was what was in my plate. There was 4-5 pieces of chicken only when I paid extra to add the chicken. No more than 7 pieces of potatoes for $15? The egg was supposed to be fried & it was runny, eww. The only good thing was the flavor of the cracked sauce with chicken & potato combo. Great concept in theory, not worth the money I couldn’t get full off this & still had to eat something else. I wanted to like this so bad. Jubilee Joes up the street has a better one for brunch with ADULT sized portions. Will not...
