Big T's At Hope Mills Lake — Restaurant in Hope Mills

It was nice when the Hope mills lake finally filled back up and more so when the built a nice fishing area, but as of recent it seems as many other areas in and around town people are just letting things fall apart. We recently came to the lake to take our kids fishing as we haven't done in a long time now and it very quickly went down hill. A group of 5 individuals had apparently carved out 3/4 of the dock for themselves and between the group 3 of them were smoking and being very loud and obnoxious with very colorful language. They proceeded to pull out a large Bluetooth speak and played very degrading and obscene music while "dancing" to it. Well between there being children around as well as my own and my wife having asthma I went to talk to an employee to rectify the situation only to be told they are really busy right now and will address it later.

We watched as many people either actively avoided the dock or left shortly after being around that nonsense. We waited for a long time for the situation to be resolved and...

Decided to bring my kids here for sno-cones today. I must say I was very impressed with the amount of flavors to choose from. I had a half strawberry daiquiri and piña colada, my son jhad a strawberry one, and my other son decided to have a cinnamon pretzel. My snocone was delicious, the piña colada tasted great and so did the strawberry daiquiri. I tasted my son’s strawberry and it was good and wasn’t the same as strawberry daiquiri but still good, he really enjoyed it and said it was so good. My older son said the pretzel was really good. The location is great , lots of seating under pavilion and although it was hot the pavilion kept us cool. The view from pavilion was beautiful and peaceful overlooking lake. Good food,good ice cream and good kids working there but they need someone there with them that has some organizational skills. I got 3 different products ordered all at the same time but I received them one at a time in 15 min intervals (not exaggerating), really doesn't make sense to have your customers use your number system when you aren't making the taken orders in that order. I'm sure they can and hope they do get better at this! Please, people after you place your order don't stand around and crowd the pick up window so it's easier for the people who's number has been called to make their multiple trips back and forth for the items that they did get. 5 🌟's for food and 1 🌟 for service.
