Takeout. I asked for additional toasted bread when ordering. I was charged but it was not provided. This has happened at least twice before. I don't know what their deal is with bread but they are stingy with it when dining in also. They used to provide tasty baked bread prior to meals, now you have to ask for it and then, maybe, it will be brought out.
Not a big deal today - for the most part - the snitty young lady working takeout made it clear she was annoyed that I dare ask for what I paid for. I was going to give her a Merry Christmas level cash tip but she earned a big FU zero instead. The food was warm this time. An improvement.

There has been a notable and obvious change in food quality to the bad here in the past few visits. Yesterday was a final straw. I stopped for a early dinner with my folks (in their 80s). The order was simple, spaghetti with meatballs they would share and a grilled chicken salad for me. The salad was not fresh, and the grilled chicken was dry and rubbery and had a taste of chicken left open in a fridge 2 days. In fact the chicken was not served cold, it was not warm or hot, it was room temperature, which I firmly believe it had been at for at least several hours and/or and recycled cooler to kitchen for a day or two. I was not going to complain, but then noticed my 80 year old folks picking over their meal. The spaghetti sauce and meatballs were also served room temperate and were not palatable. We had to ask for bread, which used to be toasted garlic bread served without asking, what came was the normally free appetizer bread and was cool to the touch as if it had just been brought out of cool storage. To top it off, the butter served with it was so cold it was an un-speadable block. This was absolutely the worst restaurant experience I've had, including theme park restaurants. Not only was the food horrible, but served at room temperature could present a health hazard and I am filing a complaint with the NC Food & Drug Protection Division. Based on the experience with two separate dishes at best this establishment should receive a GRADE C: The restaurant is a public risk and on verge of closure. My wife owned a 800 seat Golden Corral and I retired from Campbell Soup, and both of us know more than the average person about safe food handling practices. I suggest avoiding this establishment, at least in the near term. Hopefully they can regain control of what is clear to me a owner and management issue. Yes, we paid for our meal and did not demand or want any discount. The are just losing three customers who have been loyal for 30+ years, starting when the restaurant started out in a dinky but clean building long ago and had great Italian food buffet style (people are too nasty and unpredictable now so I no longer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter 3 visits the verdict is in. First, this is a good restaurant for the money. The waitstaff have always been good and seem to care. The kitchen is slower than it should be. As for the food: The appetizer sampler is a must. If you don't order this you are doing yourself a disservice. The sampler will feed a group of 3-4 people along with the bread with balsamic drizzled olive oil for dripping (Only was offered or given this on my 3rd visit). First visit I had to ask for table bread. What was delivered was cold sourdough bread slices. 2nd visit, no bread was given or offered. 3rd visit the bread and oil were delicious. First visit the Veal Parm was excellent and the portion was huge, as was the Fettuccine Alfredo. 2nd visit, the same Veal parm was dry. The tomato sauce they use on everything is less than inspired and lacks adequate seasoning. 3rd visit I got a Calzone. The crust was baked to perfection, however the mixture of Ricotta, Mozzarella and ham was waaaay out of proportion with little ricotta, tons of Mozzarella and some cut up ham slices (think lunch meat). If they swapped the proportions of ricotta and mozzarella, it would have been perfect. Their pizza, so far as I know at this time, is their best offering. Their portions are HUGE and you will have to get a box to bring some home with you, unless you split an entree, which I recommend. As my experiences have been hit or miss, I find no reason to not go there more often, as dinner for 2 can easily be under $50 for real food. The house red is decent. Their house ranch dressing is AMAZING and probably the best thing I have tasted there. If you live in Fayetteville or Hope Mills, I recommend giving them a shot. If you live farther away, it's probably not...
