Hong Kong House — Restaurant in Hopedale

Their food is crazy fresh and on the Saturday evening I went to pick up some dinner, they were crazy busy. I would recommend ordering about 45 min - 1 hour in advance if possible. In the 20 minutes I was there, over 20 people stopped by to pick up orders or wait! This makes for freshly made food and good food too. A random bonus was their guava candies that they have out in a basket, similar to how many people put out starlight mints. Since this is a family favorite,, it was nice to take a few for "dessert". I didn't like their pad thai, which is my go to - but I am also really picky and specific about the flavor/chicken/noodle ratio. My parents who ordered fried rice, chicken, and lo mein, though, loved it. Another positive is their chicken portion seemed larger than other restaurants I've been to. I feel bad giving bad reviews to places, but I noticed this was rated 4 stars and this might misguide people into eating here. I mean, it's edible if you're starving. Usually avoid the place, went back there today because it's close, had some beef teriyaki. I don't know if it was the seasonings, the over-liberal use of orange, or the actual meat, but it tasted rotten. Couldn't finish a whole skewer and neither could anyone else I offered them too, and we ended up throwing them out. Duck sauce is really like a mixture of duck sauce, simple syrup, and extra water. It's not very good. If Hong Kong House raises their standards I would happily give it another try, but for now I will resume avoiding it. About the same tier of Chinese restaurant as Panda...

First time I go this place I purchased a large order of food got home and in my rice there was a hair I call them to let them know what happened and the lady starts asking me questions about the hair how long it was and color like if I wanted to just call to waste my time in making this up to get some free food or something I just spend $60 in food .very rude on her not to care to do anything about it but is ok is my first and last time I will go .Chinese people are known for poor customer service they dont care ones they get there money they like...
