Greenhouse Wood Fired Grill — Restaurant in Mendon

I was really looking forward to trying this place out due to the excellent recommendation I got from some neighbors. My experience was extremely disappointing. The inside of the building was freezing. I never took my coat off. The folks drinking at the bar did not seem bothered by the cold. Granted I am over 60 yrs old and the blood does not move as fast as it once did but I could not understand why there was no heat coming from the lovely fireplace? There was one server on duty and one barmaid. Michael, the server, was moving right along and business picked up after we arrived. We did not order appetizers, only entrees. It took quite sometime to get our food. Customers that arrived and ordered after us got their food first?? I ordered the beef and vegetable stew. 3 pieces of beef and several pieces of potato. The taste was fine but nothing to rave about. I suppose it would have been worth the wait if the food was hot but it was only lukewarm. Michael now had several more parties to work with and the bar chairs were full. Unfortunately the room itself did not get any warmer. We asked for the check. Could not wait to get to a warm car! I decided to give this place a try as I've driven past it numerous times. The food here is tolerable but the service is some of the worst I've ever experienced. My girlfriend and I ordered wings and burgers. I ordered boneless wings and my girlfriend had the bone in. I asked for my burger with American cheese, sauteed onions, lettuce, and BBQ sauce, cooked medium. My girlfriend asked for her burger to be medium well with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles.

The wings with the bones were borderline undercooked. My burger was over done and my girlfriend's was served medium rare instead of medium well. My burger came with raw onions instead of sauteed; my girlfriend did not receive pickles on hers.

What I described would have been forgivable had the service been better. We sat at our table for at least ten minutes before someone came over at all. The wait staff saw us coming in. It took at least 30 minutes for our wings to arrive and they weren't even that busy. The place is small so it's not like they have a ton of people to serve. We got the vibe we were unwelcome there, and it was obvious that regulars receive better service and special attention. I will never eat...

Owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. His staff left us outside in the pouring rain as we attempted to open a locked door at 3:50 pm. Apparently they didn't open until 4pm (even though their website says 3pm). They all just stared at us through the window. no decency to come out to tell us they were still closed or at the very least let us sit at table and not get soaked. Then when I explained this scenario with the owner he then told me to take my business somewhere else. Which I found shocking. Apparently he wants his customers to be completely ignored by his staff. He then blamed it on COVID. Which, this had nothing to do with. I wouldn't waste your time with this place. I used to order takeout from them weekly, I thought their food was great. But I'm not going to order from a place that told me to take my business somewhere else. Ohh and by the way, this is supposedly an Irish restaurant. However, they don't have a single irish dish on their menu!! LOL. They used to have quite a few, but they took them all off. It's clear they are only catering to the bar scene.
