Empire Palace Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Hopewell Township

Done with this place. Since Covid every 3rd time we get takeout the prices go up! Last time was yesterday 2/14/24. Seems the prices for their dinner combos have doubled since Covid started. I understand food prices have gone up, but it is at the point where they are just taking advantage of loyal customers. Still pretty good, but overall quality and quantity has gone down. Sometimes barely get any meat when ordering something with vegetables, 85% vegetables. Even fried rice was dry and tasteless with yesterday's order. Didn't think this was possible.

You just lost a 20+ year customer.

This is in response to the owners response: in addition to taking advantage of their customers by raising prices, they are adding dishonesty to their resume. They said they have only raised prices twice since Covid. Funny because I get a new menu just about every time I pickup takeout and I have at least 4 menus from After Covid started that reflect that prices have gone up! Also, forgot to mention the last time we got General Tsos chicken, many of the so called pieces of chicken we nothing but breading!

From reading the other reviews I would wish the new management of Empire Palace Good Luck with staying...

I am disappointed with the changes at Empire Palace. They have gone to carry out only. However, when my husband picked up the order they don't even give you plastic forks! We live in WV but was in the area so stopped for lunch. Had to take it home to eat, a 40 minute drive. The quality of the food has dropped, and the price had gone up.

I see your answer to my review but couldn't figure out how else to respond. It apparently isn't a "one time" thing not to receive a fork in your takeout. The employee who waited on my husband told him you never hand out utensils! Maybe he was mistaken....or just did not want to bother since he had been paid. We have eaten at your establishment for over 20 years, so the quality of the food had nothing to do with the fact that we drove 40 minutes home. It has to do with the food itself! Yea I won't be back. I've ordered here before and had no issues. This time I went to order the perfect couple as we have in the past substituting chicken for shrimp. The man on the phone laughed and asked if I wanted all general tsos I said no? You've done chicken instead of shrimp in white sauce before so I don't understand the issue. He continued to laugh and said they don't do that. So I was like okay then why I have I recieved it before? I hung up since this was so hilarious to him. I called else where who happily did the switch. If they can't substitute chicken for shrimp in a relatively expensive item, then obviously you're using pre-made food and I'm not down with places that can't accommodate someone with a mild shrimp allergy.
