First time at the new location, which I was excited for since i live close. Food came out warm but as if it had been under the warmer before being taken to us. They were very busy though, and will definitely try again soon. Hopefully this was a one time fluke and I can adjust the review accordingly!
Jan 2025 edit. Went back and sat at the bar. Service was great at first as was able to order right as I was ready. Food took a while to come out, and once again was not hot and seemed like it had sat and not been expedited out. I don't know if one of the 2 bartenders were supposed to be running their own food out and were busy and didn't notice the plate sitting there or what. Once I got my food, the bartender went to go get silverware and got distracted or forgot, making the food even colder before I could dig in (go ahead and judge me for liking chicken nuggets instead of bone in 🥲😅) the worst part was when i was done, I pushed the empty plate to the far edge (the international sign of "hey I'm done please come ask if I want desert, another drink, or my check so I can ask for my check please) and after 8-10 minutes I had to get up and walk across the L shaped bar and chase a bartender down trying to get their attention and regrettably was forced to disturb other patrons ay the bar as I ducked in between a few trying to get their attention, hand raised and raising my voice each time)
With the closure of the overpriced but delicious El Paso wing factory nearby, you are better off going to wing kings on Eastlake and Peyton or if you want the sit down experience going up the road to wing daddies. I will not be back to this shack. This shack in the NE still has my vote of confidence, though it's just unfortunate I'm not up there anymore like I used to be. I tell you what I really miss... the McRae location. I went there a lot before they moved away and became the slice. Small and cozy atmosphere and always had excellent service whether at the bar or a table.
Final note: the wait staff on the floor are probably much better since they have to stay mobile to check on customers. That would probably make your experience much different than mine, but I'm not wasting a table when I go out by myself which is...
Read moreMy husband and I went to the Shack, newly opened on Eastlake. The first time we went, we were very impressed with the food, and it tasted great! The second time we went, my husband asked for sweet potato fries and they were burnt and very crispy. We told the waitress and she kindly brought us another "fresh" batch. When she returned, the sweet potatoe fries were cold and still burnt and crispy. He decided to just get regular fries. The third time we went, the same thing happened with the sweet potatoes fries, AND he initially asked for a medium cooked Green Chilli burger. The burger they brought him, was fully cooked, and burned all around the edges. Since this was the 2nd bad experience with the fries at thia location, we asked the waitress if she could get us a manager. He was very nice and brought us a new batch of sweet potatoe fries and those were good. He took the burger and told us they would prepare a "medium" cooked. When he brought the "medium" cooked burger back, it was once again fully cooked AND was the wrong burger he had initially ordered. We asked for the manager once again, and another manager helped us. We told him the situation and he said he would fix it himself; he was very nice and even said they wouldn't charge us for his food. We decided not to get another burger for my husband. By this time, I had already finished MY burger. Approximately, about 20 minutes had passed from the time where they brought him the first burger and the last one, which was the wrong one. We ended up only paying for my food and we left. We decided to go to Whataburger to get my husband his food. Overall, the service was good but the food was not. We're...
Read moreDo not take any large parties here what so ever. I called, made a reservation (10 day in advance) took it down, no problem. Got my name, number of people, my phone number and confirmed that it would be in the patio. I called about five days before the party and they said they had no reservation under my name, mind you this was for 25 people so I asked to speak to manager who was very unprofessional. When I called I said hi I needed to double check that my reservation is confirmed and he said “uh huh” very rudely and unprofessionally. he said that they didn’t take reservations and so I asked him how we could solve this issue since he didn’t know how to proceed with doing so. he then went to go ask another manager and apparently he got it confused with the fight night that had previously occurred and did not apologize for misspeaking. he then told me I would need to go give $100 deposit before the day of the party. I took the deposit and they had me waiting about 30 minutes just to give them the deposit and fill out some paperwork. The day of the party, they did not have the tables ready at all and people were sitting in the section that was supposed to be reserved for us. The management is very unprofessional. The service from the servers is actually OK and the server made up for her managers unprofessionalism. it’s clear that these guys running the show have no experience or customer service. The manager I am directly talking about is KEESHAWN. General manager Jaime could use...
