The Sushi Plugg on Eastlake: A Flavor Journey Worth Taking!

If you're cruising down Eastlake and a sushi craving hits, do yourself a favor and pull into The Sushi Plugg. This spot is buzzing with great vibes and, more importantly, good eats that will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished your current meal.

To kick things off, we dove into their spicy edamame, and it was a revelation. Not just your average steamed pods, these had a fantastic kick that was addictive without being overwhelming – the perfect zesty start to awaken the palate. Following that, the delectable shrimp tempura arrived, a testament to perfectly fried seafood. Each bite offered a delightful crunch yielding to succulent, perfectly cooked shrimp. It's clear they've mastered the art of light, crispy batter. But the true star of the show, and what really sets The Sushi Plugg apart, is their sushi burrito. Seriously, you have to try it. This creation is truly original, taking all the fresh, vibrant flavors of sushi and wrapping them up in a portable, substantial package. It's ingenious, satisfying, and incredibly fun to eat. Forget your preconceived notions of what sushi "should" be – the sushi burrito here is a game-changer that combines convenience with culinary excellence. Beyond the standout dishes, the atmosphere at The Sushi Plugg is always welcoming and energetic. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a relaxed meal, the friendly staff and lively ambiance contribute to an all-around positive dining experience. In a sea of sushi options, The Sushi Plugg on Eastlake distinguishes itself with innovative dishes, impeccable quality, and an undeniably good time....

First time dining in, though I’ve ordered takeout plenty of times. The vibe here is awesome — Adventure Time was playing on the TV, skateboards and unique designs were everywhere, and the walls were covered in dope artwork that made the whole place visually fun and inviting.

As a vegan, I really appreciate that they always take care to avoid cross-contamination with animal protein or dairy when making my vegan sushi roll or sushi burrito. This was my first time eating in and my server, Kate, was amazing — great service, good vibes, and great conversation.

One small thing I noticed when eating the other half of my sushi burrito at home (I ate one half at the restaurant and saved the rest to go) — I probably didn’t notice it earlier because I was exhausted — was that the toasted coconut I requested was missing.

Also, I found a bit of mango peel still attached to the mango, and the mango tasted less fresh, likely because it was cut near the seed where it tends to be drier if not perfectly ripe.

Huge thanks as well to the cook on the line for preparing my meal. While it was tasty, I think next time I’d prefer the Chef (owner) to make my dish, as Chefs tend to catch all the little details that make a difference.

I came in right before closing (not on purpose—I just got off work late and wanted a good meal) and Kate gave me zero pressure to rush, but I still tried to be respectful so the team could close on time.

Good energy, nourishing food, and genuinely kind people. 10/10 would recommend —especially for vegans, since not many restaurants make accommodations like this. I look forward to coming back and dining in again....

Where do I start on how awesome this place is?!!! Upon walking in, the staff greeted us with genuine smiles and with a very happy demeanor. Looking at the menu, you can definitely see and feel the vibe by reading it….you have to see the small details that were added to get what I’m talking about….there’s a charm to this place and I’m all for it!

Atmosphere: The music and the overall vibe in there makes people feel comfortable and relaxed. The music!!!! I loved every minute of whatever was playing…made this experience that much better. Service: Our waitress was attentive and very helpful. She answered any questions we had and we didn’t go thirsty or hungry….which leads me to the food!!!!! Food: Let’s just say I was left speechless. SO GOOD!!!! We ordered spicy edamame and the sushi donuts. I cannot express how happy my tummy was to eat them. My husband ordered the Killa Panda Temakirito (sushi burrito)…..delicious (I took a bite of that too lol)! It has shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, tzatziki sauce and sushi seasoning. I ordered the Chef Gil Special. It has spicy crab, avocado, jalapeño, cream cheese topped with sushi sauce, spicy mayo, sriracha, and hot Cheetos…..all of it, eaten!!! So good!!!

Overall: We definitely will be back! This place is wonderful! The prices are good, the staff is very nice, the atmosphere is comfortable (kid friendly too), and the food is delicious!

*One thing to note if you use your gps like I did, it’s at the end of the shopping center so keep driving past the other food establishments and...
