To be honest, I wanted to try another restaurant. But yet again my wife was right. Glad she made reservations. This place has a feel about it that warm and inviting. Like visiting an old friend's house for the first time. You want to explore every room but maybe next time. The food was as delightful to eat as it was to see. We started with their "Chargrilled Oysters". My only regret was sharing them! They charge for table bread, but it tasted good. I had their "Lasagna". To be honest I can't tell when Lasagna is homemade or not. But I can tell you if you told me this Lasagna was homemade, I would believe you. The pasta was flavorful and so tender my fork just glided through it like soft butter. It was cooked perfectly. The sauce wasn't over the top or bland. It had a great taste. Let's say, if I was eating it at home, I definitely would have went for seconds! My wife enjoyed her "Piccolo Filetto" and we both enjoyed a Strawberry Coconut Margarita. Our friends also enjoyed their dinner and desserts....
Read moreThis restaurant has to be one of the best dining experiences me and wife has had in the area. Located blocks away from Historic Downtown Houma, it is secluded, and has a casual vibe to it. The ribeye was cooked perfectly to my liking (Med-Rare) and was seasoned to perfection. My wife had the lasagna, and in which you can tell this was a TRUE HOMEADE lasagna, from pasta to sauce. For an appetizer, we had the Bruschetta, and that right there was definitely layered with homemade pesto, compliments to this restaurant for serving fresh ingredients. The dessert was top notch with just everlasting flavor, and definitely won me and my wife over into coming back when looking for a date night. I highly recommend giving this place a try, it was great. Reason why I didn't put all stars on Atmosphere, was because besides the outdoor seating, it's surrounded by businesses, instead of actual downtown,...
Read moreMy wife found ourselves in Houma, Louisiana last Friday and saw an excellent review for Cristianos so we walked in and had a very pleasant lunch...we were greated by Cristiano Raffignone, the owner who relocated from Liguria, Italy after meeting his partner, Kelly Barker in New York City. We would like to go back for dinner before we give a full blown review, but I anticipate a first class experience, so stay tuned...the menu is varied and ambitious and the wine list was very nice considering it was Houma, Louisiana, no offense. I would have liked a larger pour of wine by the glass since the prices are not shy, oh well...we will order a full bottle of wine when we go back for dinner. Chris had nice artwork on the walls, and a charming decor for what appeared to be a renovated house. In closing, Cristiano's s still an oasis in Houma! Alla...
