Scarlet Scoop Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Houma

First, let me say that the place is very nostalgic and cute in the inside, it would be the perfect place to go to if the customer service was what it should be. The owner seemed very annoyed when my kids and I walked through the door. We were not greeted and he made me feel unwelcome. I asked for a taste of one of the flavors and he seemed annoyed. My kids were amazed by the cool treats and they are young so they were exploring the place. He was watching them carefully which made me uncomfortable. I then ordered ice cream for my kids, which I thought was overpriced, but I decided to get it anyway. The total came up to what I thought was over the price it should've been but because of how uncomfortable I felt I just paid and left. When I left, I added everything up and the total was definitely over what it should've been. I called the store and explained everything to the guy who waited on me. He was unapologetic and he seemed confused about why the total ended up being what it was. He kept putting me on hold and he basically ended up saying that the total was about 8 dollars over what it should've been due to a credit card company charge. I have never heard of such a thing. I'm just going to chalk it up as a loss, but I will never go back to SCARLETT SCOOP. They are over priced, the ice cream was disgusting and my kids didn't even eat it. It’s been 20 years since I met my wife and we lived in Houma. I’m here now for a work visit and as I drove around town looking at our old home and haunts, the Scarlet Scoop appeared in my vision. Just had to stop and take a look inside.

Ice cream like no other. Service is consistently kind and cordial. Love, love, love this place. The cozy little timeless ice scream shop on the corner every child and adult in the world should visit. It's adorned wall to wall with old fashion relics of history, old fashioned candies and jaw breakers the size of a healthy size infant's head.
