7Spice — Restaurant in Houston

I love this 7 spice! :-) I’ve visited here 4-7 times weekly for the past month since I started visiting this location. Used to frequent another location over on Fuqua st. but since moving up here, haven’t found a good cajun place until now! I typically always order after I get off of work and that’s usually about an hour before closing. This spot never denies my order even if it’s 30 or even 15 minutes until close time. I never like to be that last minute person but they are so good, I crave them all the time and can’t resist!

My favorite employee here is Marvin. He’s super kind and courteous and he goes the extra mile every time for me. He gives me manager vibes. I’m not sure if he is one but if not, he should totally be promoted or given a raise! One time, I mentioned that a person forgot my butter in an order I had the previous day so not only did he recover that butter for me, but he gave me a couple extra and that was sweet. I certainly wasn’t expecting it but very much appreciated the gesture.

Called in to order catfish po boy. I get there to pick up order and they have a crawfish po boy instead but I didn’t realize it until I got to my car and checked my food so I called inside and told her I wanted cat fish and so they was going to remake my order. I wait for order to be remade only to receive it back with the same po boy bread, same lettuce and the same tomatoes that was on the crawfish and by this time since the meat was hot when first placed on so of course the lettuce had gotten wrinkled all up and looked like spinach at this point and they thought I wasn’t going to check again before actually walking out so I did. I’m like I can get fresh lettuce and tomatoes, then thought about it and just said give me my money back. I was very upset and had to starve on my lunch break cause I was already late getting back from the first mistake of having to replace the crawfish with catfish. We came here because we craving seafood and it had good reviews. We ordered to eat our food at the restaurant. After 35 minutes pass, my husband finally goes to ask for an update on our order. We find out it has been made and was sitting on what I assume is there to go order shelf. Who knows how long we would have waited had he not asked. The ticket said “for here” so there wasn’t a miscommunication on that. I’m also not sure how so many reviews rave about customer service. Not only did staff not have awareness or check on customers that had been waiting for over half an hour, but there were other customers issues we saw while waiting. Another customer was complaining about where his food was and then one of the staff members was disrespectful to another couple when it appeared he was the one who told them to come back the next day for a refund.
