This is a subpar meal. I ordered a two piece meat combo brisket and ribs with spicy barbecue sauce. My two sides being macaroni cheese and yams. Starting with the sides the macaroni and cheese was bland, no flavor running and had a off clear color to it. The yams were unseasoned basic mushy and also no flavor. I figured since the sides were bad maybe they focus more attention on the meat however I again was met with disappointment. For starters the brisket was extremely firm and chewy, resembles processed dog food. The barbecue sauce had absolutely no spice. Granted I am not a big spicy eater however I figured I would give more of what this place had to offer. Trash the sauce is was and will always be if they don't change it. As far as the ribs they were also hard and chewy. The ribs were definitely not cooked the same day I ordered them. I could not finish the entire meal. To make matters worse I found plastic bits in the ribs as shown in the picture. The food was literally hot trash. I would not even take this meal home to a dog to eat. This company does not live up to the brown sugar barbecue name, the name sounds like authentic genuine food BBQ food but it's cafeteria barbecue at best. The customer service is decent I found the clerk at the register to be accommodating and friendly. This is a one star review however the customer service gives it the additional star.

To set the mood my visit was at 2:30 on a Monday afternoon. There was only one other customer in the restaurant eating. I ordered the chicken dinner that includes 2 side dishes. I ordered green beans and potato salad, my drink was a Coke. The bill came out to $13.21. I usually get chicken at my first visit to a new to me BBQ restaurant to get a comparison. It was bland at best and dry, the BBQ sauce that was poured on top of it reminds me of the extra suace from a can of baked beans. The green beans had to be straight from a can of DelMonte with no seasoning. The potato salad was probably the best part of my meal. As a rule I normally tip at %20, today I did not. Would I recommend this place to friends or family? No I would not.

I’m aware Covid and now inflation changed a lot for everyone and I’ve taken that into consideration. Not smelling smoke let me know what I was getting into when I parked. But still, I trudged on. The lighting is dark, the restaurant smells like my grandmother’s house, which was very confusing to me, however, the staff was wonderful. Had a three meat plate. The sausage was dry and reminded me of the ones you’d get in a bag at the corner store. The brisket was cold, and the ribs were a few days old. For the $15 I spent, it’ll do, I just wouldn’t go out of my way.

Brown Sugar's Barbecue LOOKED like a great barbeque restaurant when we first walked in. Admittedly, I was really impressed when we walked inside because the Western-themed decor was neat and it smelled amazing in there. In reality, it was far from impressive. Looks can deceiving and this place is a prime example of that. The Loaded Baked Potato with Chopped Beef was mediocre and relatively expensive compared to other bbq restaurant prices. The chopped beef on my potato was very bland, there was barely any butter (or none at all it seemed), too much sour cream, and not enough shredded cheese. I tried some of my brother's sides and they were cafeteria-quality. Absolutely terrible. The Macaroni & Cheese was disgusting and watery. You've been warned. The Baked Beans were overcooked and had no flavor. I found it questionable that they only had two bbq sauces- Sweet or Spicy. No Original BBQ Sauce option? I decided to try both since I personally like any type of bbq sauce. Without a doubt in my mind, that Sweet BBQ sauce was the WORST barbeque sauce I've EVER had. The Spicy BBQ sauce was mediocre, but it wasn't awful. If you're someone who doesn't like sweet or spicy bbq sauce, you're out of luck because they don't have any other options. Lastly, you get what you pay for here - I recommend spending the few extra dollars and going to a better quality bbq restaurant. I strongly advise against eating here. As I mentioned earlier, you've been warned. They nickel and dime for everything too - $1.50 extra for lean meat, 75¢ for extra sauce, 25¢ for water cups, and then $1.00 after your first refill. The Pickles didn't taste very good at all (they were practically room temp - gross) and there was maybe 3 or 4 in there. Absolutely ridiculous. Never...

Ok I had a rib plate and a turkey sandwich. The ribs were absolutely horrible no seasoning and you can tell they have been boiled. I went off a review I seen on here and got sweet potatoes and baked beans for my side. I can now tell that these reviews are fake, because the sweet potatoes were horrible no sweet and just tasted funny. The baked beans were equally horrible. They just tasted bland no flavor, and tasted horrible. I thought I would be able to kill the taste by pouring their bbq sauce over it and the dang bbq sauce dont even taste like bbq sauce. It tasted horrible. My turkey sandwich had no bbq flavor to it at all. It tasted like turkey they sliced off some deli meat and had no seasoning or flavor to it. I am very disappointed because I spent 30$ on this and no one has money to waste in these times. I absolutely will never come back and I see why there's no business hardly there. I want to make it aware that I am an absolutely real review. I pass by there everyday going home and I always thought about stopping and never did just based off no one hardly ever there when I pass by I should've listened to my first mind. They need a lot of work on their food. What yall should do is fire the cooks because they obviously dont care and get new ambitious cooks that will smoke some meat with seasoning and work on...
