This is probably THE worst Chili's I have ever been to and yesterday marked the last time I will ever go to this location. I was there at around 2pm to watch the Chiefs game and sat at the bar.
The bartender had a bad attitude and just looked like she hated her job the entire time. Either she had resting b--- face or she was miserable and it came out when I asked for a simple request: refill my chips while my queso was still warm.
I caught her looking at her cellphone multiple times. She would come out of the kitchen, look at her phone, then go back into the kitchen. She was slow and had ZERO hustle. I asked when I was low on chips for a refill and it took 10 minutes...for her to tell me I was going to have to "wait a few seconds." When I told her I had been waiting for 10 minutes already, she coped an attitude. Especially when I told her I saw her walking slowly to the tables and that I knew how easy it was to grab chips from the back (I used to work for Chili's). Her not being able to get to it had NOTHING to do with being "too busy"--it had to do with having no sense of urgency and mis-prioritizing her tasks. I know the difference.
I asked for the manager, who I have seen before--some tall guy who looks like he's trying to go for the 90's Chumbawumba look. He was the same guy that months before I heard using profanity while sitting at the bar with co-workers. This guy came over, made excuses for the bartender and then told me, "She never has an attitude" and when I said she had one that day and I saw her walking around slowly with no sense of hustle, he said, "I am sorry you feel that way" and walked away. He did that after he offered to get me more chips, but I declined because I was done having this miserable and slow bartender as my server.
I left and went to the location in Katy and it was NIGHT AND DAY. The server was just as busy but she was efficient and friendly. There is no excuse for this kind of service--they need to replace the manager AND the bartender. This is simply a disorganized and unprofessional location with other employees sitting at the bar area--because it was apparently so slow that they had nothing to do but so busy that getting more chips was too much to ask.
I have worked in food service and I know when someone is in the weeds and when someone simply has a poor work ethic and makes excuses. There was NO reason for this bartender to be in the weeds. I could see her screen for drink orders--it was scant. If she was overwhelmed it was because she moved slow and was disorganized. Then for the manager to gaslight me and dismiss my concern, was unacceptable. There are better locations in Willowbrook and Katy--avoid this location and go a little further to have a better, more...
Read moreMy friend and I went in today for lunch. We sat at the bar and was never greeted. Once the lady (JJ) whom started she is a manager walked up to us and said, "any drinks?" She was very nonchalant, & unfriendly. I asked her give us a minute. I immediately told my friend that she has a lil attitude but let's still give it a chance...maybe she's having a bad morning. When we were ready, she asked for Id's. My friend didn't have his, which was fine. That's his fault not hers. I was interested in the Don julio margarita that I've never tried. I asked her how was that drink? She replied very short, "I don't drink!" I was then waiting for her to at least say but its popular or whatever. I was then very annoyed! So I just ordered something familar. She fixed my drink, sat it down and walked off. Her energy was horrible. She came back and asked what we were ordering. We ordered our food and she just walked off. At that point she was ruining our lunch!! My friend asked her, "how is work today?" Without even looking at him, she said, "ok!" Then she walked off. When she came back out I asked her, "are u ok..U seem to have an attitude!" She started to tell us that she has to ID everyone. I stopped her and said, "oh I understand that, trust me it's not the drink situation at all, that is completely on him for not having his ID and he doesn't really drink so it's ok, it's your attitude from the time we sat down... before drinks were ordered!" She then started saying how she is from New Orleans and the rules are different...blah blah blah. I said, "me too.. I'm from New Orleans also in management, so I completely understand but that's not the issue.... your attitude is bad! She did apologize and after that...we were never approached, she never asked if we needed anything, no water refills, no dessert.... nothing. This was the WORST experience I've had at any Chillis!! Will never go back to this location with that management. And to note, the guy that came out to bring our water and food had the best energy in there,...
Read moreEverything was fine up until I had to pay. First of all the waiter didn’t even ask us if we were done, just went to the table machine and asked if we were paying in cash or card. I’ve been to Chilis plenty of times before, and even once at this location in November 2023. I payed on my own through the machine and didn’t need someone to help me pay for my check. So I was throughly confused on why the waiter decided to check us out on their own. It wasn’t like this Chilis was busy anyways. So I was with one other person and we decided to spilt the check like we normally do. Note, I was hesitant to give my card to the waiter since I wasn’t used to this at Chilis. Our final total was $39.90 mind you. And off of a sudden while the waiter has my card, the machine messes up and charges the entire total to my card. The waiter tells me that they’re going to go try and void the charge in the back with my card still in hand. 1 minute goes by and they come back and say that they wouldn’t be able to void the charge and that I won’t be able to get that charge back. I check how much the charge is and it’s $49.08. Almost $10 more than our original total so I was confused. Turns out the system charged us $9.18 for the tip by itself. If I’m correct, the customer is supposed to put in the tip amount and if they even want to tip, especially the POS system at Chili’s. I tried to talk to both the waiter and what Im assuming was the manager afterwards. I asked for not only an explanation on what happened, but to see my order and if there was a way I could get a refund. But they declined both and said I couldn’t see my order because of customer privacy and that my refund would take a week to reach my account. They offered me a $5 gift card, but honestly I just wanted to leave after not be able to get a refund on a charge I did...
