The Juicy Crab — Restaurant in Houston

This was my first time dinning in at this location. Previously, I’ve ordered take out once. That experience was good, 4/5. This time, it was not that great. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted nor asked how many people were in my party. I was just told: “follow me this way.” Even though I was dining alone what if I was meeting someone there? My waitress was great. She was attentive and very professional. Now the wait time was extremely long. I ordered the 4 piece catfish with Cajun fries and I drank water with a lemon in it. My food came out very hot and fresh which is how I like my meals. However, I waited so long that I was tempted to get up and inform my waitress I was going to leave. I didn’t do that, I waited. She did come by twice to let me know Yang it would be a few more minutes on my order. I waited about 20/25 minutes in total. They were not busy this day. There was only myself and two other parties of less than 3 people who were dining in. Aside from the long wait, my food was 5/5. The catfish were a good size and I had a nice amount of fries. I didn’t eat all of my food because it was such a good portion. I had leftovers for later that night. It was so delicious. I liked that they had containers of the condiments instead of bottles sitting on the tables. I feel it’s more sanitary that way. Loved that. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The music was great. It was a good mix of everything. I will visit again and hopefully I won’t have to wait so long. The lobby was clean and well kept. I didn’t visit the restroom so I’m not sure how that was kept. The glimpse of the kitchen that I got as my waitress was walking out with my food seemed like it was also clean and well kept. The floors were crumb free which is a plus. The booth I was sat at needed a better wipe down but overall...

I was really excited to try this place based on the impressive 4.7-star rating, and I made sure to read through many of the most recent reviews before deciding to give it a shot.

I called ahead to place a to-go order, which was taken over the phone without issue. I arrived about 30 minutes later, expecting to simply pay and pick up my food. To my surprise, I was told the food hadn’t even been prepared yet and would only be made after I arrived and paid. I was shocked—why wasn’t this clearly communicated when I called? Not only had I driven 30 minutes to get there, but now I had to wait an additional 18 minutes for my order to be prepared.

As for the food: I ordered two servings of the #10 combo and one order of 10-piece wings, all with their house sauce, assuming it would be their best.

Portion-wise, the seafood was decent, but the wings were extremely small. Taste-wise, everything was overwhelmingly salty. Every single bite, from the seafood to the wings—was SUPER SALTY. This was a to-go order, so I couldn’t do anything about it once I left. I even tried rinsing off the seasoning, and it was still unbearably salty.

In the end, this was a huge disappointment—completely underwhelming and not at all worth the $96 I spent. We ended up throwing the food away because it just wasn’t edible. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant, and I wish there were a way to get my money back.

I visited on Friday night, and I’m attaching my receipt so management can locate my order.

Three weeks update: I did reach out via email as provided by the owner and still didn’t get a response...

This location on northwest freeway is way farther from my house but better than tomball pkwy location. Tomball smelled a bit too much of weed. Idk if its cause we went later in the evening like 7pm maybe. LIke no judgement Idc but im sensitive to smells even perfume and if you have kids obviously they will not care for the smell but the food looker so good i had to try it. Im glad i did cause once your food comes all you smell is deliciousness lol. This northwest frwy location just feels more open and clean and friendly. The a/c was on point too 😆 I've only ever ordered the #7 & #6 combo juicy seasoning mild and it seriously is sooo good im addicted lol. Antonio at the Northwest frwy location is awesome right off the bat just great energy great speedy service 👏 definitely ask for him if you stop in! Also please Juicy crab can we get a location closer to magnolia/woodlands area! 😭😆 just finished my meal at this location and it just got better had to update such a great vibe. Who I assume is the manager was walking around thanking diners wishing us a happy Easter checking in just so nice and genuine. She also recognized the couple sitting next to me as did antonio which I thought was just so nice 😭 it's nice when they remember you at places just like when I'm at work i try to remember folks love to see it. if yall say anything bad about this location we're gonna have...
