When I first arrived to the hotel, I had to ask for another room. The first room had a strong urine odor. I was immediately moved to another room and the front desk clerk apologized. Upon entering the second room, the remote control did not work. (Minor) The furniture was peeling, microwave peeling, rusted, and at night when I got ready to take a shower, there was no hot water. I first attempted to take a shower at 8:45, and waited until almost 11 o’clock for the hot water to kick in to take a shower I notified the front desk, hot water and none working remote control. She apologized again. During the night when I woke up, I woke up itching. I could not figure out why I was itching. The itching lasted through the night until the early morning hours. I woke up to take a shower to see if that might help with the itching, it did not because I was unable to take a shower due to the lack of hot water early in the morning. While in the bathroom, I noticed several lifted marks on my neck. As I checked the room and the bedding there were fleas in the room. The room was infested with fleas. Fleas were in the carpet and the bed. Flea bites on my neck, arm, stomach and foot. So bottom line, the reason for my score is the following, strong urine odor in room, nonworking, remote control, no hot water, stained carpet and bed spread, broken pool and fleas. When I went downstairs in morning to inform the young lady behind the desk that there was no hot water she made a comment to me as if I was an idiot and told me if there was hot water in the front there was hot water in my room. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I quickly loaded my stuff and informed her that I would be checking out immediately. My family and I have been customers of Sleep Inn hotels for the past 15 years. Our first experience was in San Antonio while visiting SeaWorld, the hotel experience was phenomenal, and I became hooked. After staying at this location, I can officially say this bad experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. My four night stay quickly turned into a stay that lasted less than 12 hours. The hotel pool is broken, which should be posted on their website. The rooms are not maintained well. The bathrooms are not maintained well either. Frustration with fleas in my room. Someone posted a few days ago that their tools were stolen straight from their work truck (that’s why they parked it by the entrance afterwards) the cameras don’t point towards ALL of the parking areas so please BEWARE. Someone smashed my window to my car (I had no belongings visible/out in the open- I literally have no tint on my windows) they broke my window and proceeded to try “hot wire” my car- in which they failed to do so..Only leaving my back window completely shattered AND car power steering column utterly busted and unable to work (which means my car no longer starts) there was also blood smeared all over my car from the robber. I am furious at what happened. The front desk receptionist was absolutely no help whatsoever in this situation by stating things like “well it can happen anywhere at anytime, and I’m sorry the manager did not get back in touch with you after 2-3 hours” (which is the time estimate she gave me 5 hours ago) then she proceeded to tell me that she would text the manager soon.. after five hours of waiting.. “Naty” the front desk receptionist is extremely unprofessional and had a vigorous attitude when I provided her with the information regarding the incident. I will never be staying here again. When I arrived with my cousin, who is on a cane, I spoke with Oscar who took me through the ringer and enetered my AAA number incorrectly, then stated "it's not my fault". Because I used a diffferent card than the card I reserved with, he wanted me to give him the card again but I checked my cc and they had already run it. After explaining we had been traveling since 3am and were very tired, (this was getting close to 8 pm) I asked could I see the room..."we don't do that"! Still in the Lobby calling Choice Hotels, My CC company and AAA, I asked could he please contact his manager. His response "You can't talk to him but I will call him". After he spoke with his manager, we finally got in the room. The sheets were stained, and the pillowcases had residue of make up marks. We called and asked for extra sheets , which we had to go get! After the second day, my cousin saw a ROACH CRAWLING ON MY BED. When we returned, we checked out a day early! I told Oscar about the ROACH and his response was "That sucks, was it a small roach or a big roach?" Sir it was a ROACH! NO apologies or anything.
