Ok I'm going to start off with I love Dairy Queen, but this location gives me pause. The dining room is usually closed forcing you to use the drive through which wouldn't be a problem if you have a small order, a family of 6 however is never going to have a small order. The fries have been cold the last few trips and on the most recent, and probably last to this location, they were like chewing double bubble gum or an old shoe. The burgers were all smashed and soggy and our Blizzards were all melted when they brought them out(they could not have flipped them for sure). This location is still basically running their Covid 19 menu so it's super limited so don't even think about online or app ordering because they won't have what you order and don't think you can go and eat there because most likely the dining room will be locked and even the patio chairs will be put up. Then when you get to the drive through it's going to be 3-5 minutes for them to get around to taking your order which will be a couple of minutes between items as well. Unless you order a drink or single frozen treat you will be waiting and will get vague directions as to where they want you to park then they will wander around confused looking for your car, even if your car is super distinct and not a generic crossover(I only drive classic cars). If you go to this location well all I can say is good luck and godspeed. I hate to say it but I would have given 0 stars if it was an option and that is not my thing, but this location will put you off of Dairy Queen especially if your new to it. Unfortunately it's also the only Dairy Queen in SW Houston so we will now reserve DQ for when we travel. Only because I would have to travel to the next closest location anyway. Such a contrast to the DQ we ate at when we...

This was not my first visit to the store -- visit number 3 -- but it ranks as my worst DQ interaction ever.
Today is National Ice Cream Day and DQ is promoting $1 Off Dipped Cones. The cashier had no idea what I was talking about when I asked for the promotion. I showed him the DQ app, and he said he would have to get the manager. When the manager showed up he credited $1 -- there were three cones in our order -- and then tells us that the promotion is only for small dipped cones. (Where was this written? Sounds like he made this up!) We changed our orders to small (not what we wanted), and the manager departs to the back. The young cashier returns to charge my order, and I pay using ApplePay. Somehow the kid is distracted (perhaps he saw a squirrel), and supposedly the transaction is not processed. He asked me to pay again.... which already seems weird, and when I tried the second time the transaction was declined. Gee, no kidding. Two transactions for the same price, at roughly the same time, from the same place? Now at this point I ask for the manager again, and he refuses to return from the back. I asked for the name of the Franchise Owner so that I could report the incident, and the cashier has no idea what I am talking about (again) and the "manager" would not respond.
We left without our ice cream, and a real bad taste in my mouth. Today should have been a pleasant afternoon with a delicious DQ dipped cone, and instead I received grief, aggravation, and left empty handed.
The Franchise Owner needs to get involved and ensure their people have some idea of what they are doing. For now, however, stay away from this location. Tell...
Read moreMy wife just had an interesting experience with the worker who answered the phone at this DQ. She called to find out when the store was closing. The person who answered the phone did not say it was Dairy Queen. Actually she didn't say anything, so my wife started talking and asking if it was DQ. There was a lot of background noise, but no one talked on the phone, so my wife hung up. My wife trying calling again, and it was exactly the same. No one said, "Hello, Dairy Queen," or anything. There was just a lot of background noise, as if someone accidentally answered the phone but didn't know it. My wife hung up again. She tried calling a third time, and someone did answer. They said they were angry my wife was bothering them calling on the phone over and over. My wife kept asking if it was Dairy Queen, but the women on the phone just threatened my wife by telling her to "come down here and I'll 'take care' of you, swore at my wife and then hung up the phone. I overheard all three calls, because my wife had the phone on speaker. It was quite shocking. Never had a phone call like that with a restaurant or actually any place of business like that in my life. Quite an experience. Obviously I'd recommend for anyone to choose any of the other numerous DQs in the area for food and ice cream....
