As a prior employee for Denny Corp. I was shocked by our service here. 1st we were greeted out side by a female employee, to which I believe she was on her smoke break. She was sitting on the bench out front. We were told in a rather rude way to put our masks on because we weren't allowed in without them. ( mind you my husband had just put his on and I was barely out of our vehicle and reaching for mine in my purse.) After we entered she followed in yelling for our server. Literally yelling for him. We got seated.. he kept walking away talking to us. Like you would in your home with family and friends. Using a rather loud voice to ask us our drink order 3 times. How hard is ice water with lemons? He came over explained again how he has been off for two days and doesn't know what they have or what they might be out of. We ordered a Side salad with dressing on the side, a half order of nachos with extra sour cream and a pot roast dip with French onion dip. Hr puts the order in and then comes back to us again addressing us from across the room saying Ya they are out of Pot roast, and prime rib and pancake batter. I should get you a menu so you can look at it some.more. oh and I should get your salad before your nachos come out... oh ya want some more water? I'll bring ya that too. After my husband was able to give him his order. He disappeared. He brought our food out and we Didn't see him again until he brought the check. We did however hear him yelling for my extra sour cream... three or four times ( yes I meant yelling. ) we heard what I can only assume was the manager give a horrible interview where he completely decimated this poor man and then he hired him. ( if I were that man I would run far and fast from here.) The female waitress mean while had a family of 5 come in.. our waiter yelled for her to come seat her table as he walked past them and she came out and sat them.. mind you none of them had masks on and she didn't once tell them they had to have theirs others!I noticed in the booth across from us there was a massive tear in the seat cushion and there were decorations still up from Valentines day and I am not sure who does the window art but it certainly isn't up to what I remember as standard acceptance from Denny Corp. I am an old lady who was a star coordinator for a wonderful Corporate Dennys out of Everett Washington. I loved my job and the people I worked with. This Dennys made me sad and ashamed that people ate going to this establishment expecting excellent service and they are getting something less...
Read moreIf I could give NO STARS I most definitely would. This was the WORST Denny's experience EVER!!!! We arrived and was seated immediately (that was good). Our waiter came and asked for our drink orders. With our water we asked for lemons on the side. The lemons looked as if they had been used...but in actuality they were just extremely soft....over ripened. So when it was brought to his attention he got an attitude because we asked for new lemon slices. The tone in his voice was aggressive and I said, "I may need to get a different waiter." He...(Cain) asked me if I wanted another waiter and I told him no...just to watch how he spoke to us. Secondly....when he placed one of the drink orders on the table he held the glass with his bare hand over the rim. Okay so he left to get fresh lemons and I saw him speaking to Moses (the manager on duty). When Cain came from the kitchen area he went to another table and proceeded to take their order. About 6 mins later the manager came with lemons and said he would be back to take our order. 5 more mins passed....and he passed by and motioned at me that he would be right there. We waited between 10-15 more minutes and finally my friend went to the front to inquire about someone coming to take our order because people came in after us had given their orders (to Cain) and was waiting for their food. So Jeremy came over....apologized for the long wait....took everyone's order and all was good. Now we're all done...and ready to pay for our food. Got to the register only to be met by a long line of other patrons waiting for someone to come and check them out. So now this wait was about 10-12 minutes! As initially stated....this was the WORST of all the MANY times I have gone to ANY Denny's restaurant. No offer for a complimentary dessert or coffee....no discount offered toward the bill. NOTHING!!!! I won't say that I won't ever eat at Denny's again....but I definitely WILL NOT EVER go to this location on 610 and S. Main in Houston, TX EVER....(NEVER EVER) again!!!!
**Jeremy was AWESOME! He picked up the slack of Cain and Moses.....and did a splendid job taking care of each of us. Give this man some type of bonus. He truly...
Read moreThe food was great as always. My review is due to the bafflingly poor service. Our server (Kiki) started our experience by ignoring the fact that we were seated. After finally acknowledging us we were asked for our drink order. 2 coffees, 2 waters, and a chocolate milk for our 9 year old. She then brought back 2 coffees, 1 water, and the milk. She promptly asked if we were ready to order and when we said we needed a couple minutes she disappeared for 10 minutes before I could even ask for our other water. I mean, come on. Why would we want 2 coffees and just 1 water? From my experience at EVERY OTHER DINER IN EXISTENCE it's always water and coffee. Another server had to ask if we were ready to order because she was sitting on the other side of the restaurant. We said we were and she informed Kiki of that fact. She was sitting on the other side of the restaurant talking to the other servers. She looked our way and then turned her back to us for another 5 minutes! When she finally came to get our order I asked for the additional water she neglected to get in the first point and got a small huff. We needed more coffee and cream by this point and had to ask for her to refill them. We ordered our food. She forgot part of our order. She had such a HORRIBLE attitude that we just let it go. (It was just an appetizer). 20 minutes passed and we had to hail her down again to get more coffee. The server station was a few steps from our table and as she exited she loudly said to another server "TABLE 20 GETTING ON MY NERVES!" And made sure we heard her. Guess who table 20 was? Look, there's 2 sides to every story and being a server is often a tough and thankless job. I get it. That's why we usually tip 20-30% but this lady was the hands down worse server my wife or I have EVER had. I would also like to say we go to this Denny's very often. My wife attempted to talk to the manager and said she felt as if her complaints fell on def ears. So, here we are in the court of public opinion. If you go to this Denny's and get Kiki as a server,...
