Donita's — Restaurant in Houston

This place is super adorable, inside and out. Tbh though, the exterior wasn't enough to persuade me to try this place (in the 3yrs I've lived in the area close to this shop). My judgment is that if a place is alil too flashy, it's to overcompensate for the food. OR the establishment focuses more on looks when it should be focusing its efforts more on the quality of their food 🙄 I just finally went one day because I was hungry omw to the mechanic. And my judgment stands.

I got classic donut holes & plain glaze filled w/ Bavarian. There wasn't anything wow about them. Donut holes acceptable. But I was super disappointed with the Bavarian - it hardly had any filling! That donut was pretty dry; and the Bavarian had a weird almost "chemical" taste.

Idk. . .if a donut shop can't master the basics, I dont think it'd be worth my time going back a second time. Especially when there are plenty of other shops...

Food and drinks were good but the older lady that took our order didn’t let my husband finish his sentence of what he wanted to order. We wanted 3 lattes and breakfast + donuts. He told her he wanted two large vanilla lattes and she immediately turned around and started making them before he could even finish his sentence. She turned around and asked my husband a question and he had to tell her he wanted another latte for me as well. I told her i wanted vanilla then later she asked if it was caramel, I told her it was vanilla. They need to write down orders to make everything organized. It was a complete mess. The latte was good but not something I would drive 10 minutes for. The donuts and croissants were amazing but the service was really disappointing. They need a better...

My daughter has been wanting to try Donita’s because of the giant half eaten donut in the front and the sprinkles covering the building. When we walked in it was super clean and we were immediately greeted. The worker talked to my child instead of me(we were there for her so I expect her to tell people what she wants) I was surprised that the employee held a conversation with my daughter. My daughter said “these are the best donuts ever!” She gave me a bite and I have to agree never knew a donut hole could taste so great. Not to mention that the donut holes were HUGE.
