I’ve definitely become a regular. Very nice folks who really care about the coffee. I order online and idk how, but it lands on my doorstep ridiculously fast - kudos to the packing/shipping people. They also put nice/funny thank you cards in my boxes which is really cute. Stopped by their location once a while back with my parents and they offered to take us on a tour. Showed us everything, including their lab area where they test and examine all of the beans both before and after roasting. Pretty impressive process they have set up from an industrial engineering/scientific perspective.

Tontine espresso is the best espresso blend I have found - and I have tried A LOT of different beans from other roasters and companies. It isn’t too dark, isn’t too light, and doesn’t just taste like a muddled blend of burnt beans. Very nice uniformity in bean roast, no cracked/broken beans, etc. It is dark enough that it has a nice deep and full body, but not so dark that the beans are oily - so it is great for a super automatic.

Huge selection for pour-overs/drip. Ethiopia natural is always good and the Brazil Minas Gerais is my wife’s favorite (I love it, too), and she has strong opinions on what coffee she likes and doesn’t like.

The micro lots are fun to try from time to time. There was an Ethiopia natural once a while back and it was outstanding.

All in all, great trustworthy folks, winner of best espresso blend over my multi-year search, great selection, and a local business that has earned its place.

Couldn’t be happier to live in...

This coffee roaster is hands down one of the best spots in town. The atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed, with just the right vibe whether you want to hang out for a bit or just stop in to grab something to go. The smell of fresh roasted beans hits you as soon as you walk in, and it sets the tone for how good the coffee really is.

I’ve tried a variety of their drinks, and everything has been consistently excellent, but my absolute favorite is their Velvet Espresso. The name says it all — it’s smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, with a velvety finish that makes every sip satisfying. It’s so good that it’s become part of my daily routine. I actually buy it by the bag and brew it at home every single morning. I can honestly say it’s the best espresso blend I’ve ever had, and nothing else compares.

On top of the great coffee, the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They take the time to answer questions and make you feel welcome, which makes the experience even better. Whether you’re a serious coffee fan or just someone who enjoys a really good cup, this place is a must-visit....

Recently, I researched outlets to purchase freshly roasted coffee beans. Katz had some positive reviews on Reddit so despite the 40mins drive in traffic, I visited their roasting house with the intention of tasting and trialling before purchase. Unfortunately, I was pushed for time and hastely made a purchase of 2 x 2lb freshly roasted beans. I did not check the purchase till arriving home and noted the decaf was also 2lb despite my request for the smaller size. By Monday, I tried the beans and was bitterly disappointed and phoned Katz. I spoke at length to Carla who promised to follow up. The service was beyond my. expectations! Not only was I given a refund but had 2 x 2lb freshly roasted alternate coffee beans delivered to my door the following day free of charge with an additional follow up call to ensure the delivery had arrived. I was so impressed by the service of a company who stands by their products and whose intention is to ensure that the customer is satisfied no matter the cost. Congrats Katz for your integrity and customer concern! I will...

Katz Coffee – The Brew That Gives Back! If you’re a coffee lover like me, prepare to have your taste buds elevated to a whole new level with Katz Coffee! I had the pleasure of taking a behind-the-scenes tour of their facility, and let me tell you – it was like walking through caffeine heaven. The aroma alone could make anyone swoon! 😍 But it’s not just about how delicious their coffee is (though, seriously, it's SO good I could probably run a marathon after a cup). What really impressed me was their heart. Katz Coffee isn’t just about brewing the perfect roast—they’re brewing positive change in the community. I was thrilled to learn they actively support Veterans with PTSD and other incredible causes. Their commitment to giving back is just as strong as their coffee game. So, if you love your cup of joe to come with a side of doing good, Katz Coffee is where it's at. Plus, who doesn’t want to start their day knowing their caffeine fix is making the world a little better? 10/10 would highly recommend – and will definitely be back for another cup (or three). ☕✨

For years I slept on Katz Coffee. A few restaurants in the city did a pretty good job of brewing Katz, but I was never blown away by it. Last year I lead one of the Caffeine Crawl tours. Our first stop was Katz. They gave us a couple if bags to take home, plus we had a chance to order a cup of any drink we wanted. The barista was nice and allowed me to do a flat white and also try a cold brew because I wanted to see if they tasting notes we r pronounced. I was amazed how great their coffee was. I bought a bag of the beans that were used in the cold brew. I have since made Katz my quick run to (about 30 minute drive with no traffic) for the extra bag of coffee, plus most of my decaf comes from. Sent a couple if bags to my aunt who can only drink decaf due to medical reasons...she loves the coffees. For the most part, I buy their African beans because I love fruity note coffee...and theirs is some of the best. Plus they roast the coffee fresh when you shop at store if it is not available on the shelf (and even the shelf coffee is pretty freshly roasted).

We keep running into places with great coffee roasted by Katz Coffee. From High Country Market in Round Rock to MOD Coffee House in Galveston. We decided today would be a good day to visit their mothership in Houston on Karbach St. Sure glad we did. We ended up buying 3 pounds of whole beans, Texas Chocolate Mudslide, Austin Bat City Blend( we've opened this one and it's very good), Texas Hill Country Pecan, and a bottle of vanilla bean cold brew coffee. They make a variety of lattes, hot or cold, and iced coffees, some wit' nitro n some without.....for free. Everybody loved their drinks, my wife had the crusty pelican, nitro, coconut, vanilla, and half n half, I had a hot bananas foster latte....god stuff, our coffee/book buddy got a cold nitro coffee brew. The young man that waited on us was very friendly knows his beans. We left with a couple empty coffee bags, those are also free for the asking. You need to check this place out, you'll thank me later.
