I just left this location tonight I will never shop in another Michaels again in my life my experience was so embarrassing . My wife and I went in Michaelās to purchase flowers for her mothers grave site that she was to be visiting. While she looked at other items I allowed her the freedom to shop without me leering over her shoulder so she wouldnāt feel rushed as Michaelās is not really a store I normally shop at. There were at least 15 to 20 other people in the store however my wife and I were being profiled by whoever was monitoring cameras or whatever security system they have inside the store.I was in the stationary department and I hear, thank you for shopping Michaelās _āMarkersā, over the intercom system. I went to where my wife was in the jewelry department she stopped to look at a bracelet, again I hear āthank you for shopping Michaelās ___jewelry departmentā . I go to another department same thing, another department to confirm what was apparently happening. EVERY security alert was for every department my wife and I were in although there were other people in the store and mind you we were both dressed well and did not look to be destitute nor appear to be vagrants of any kind. I do understand, this time of year there are a lot of thefts and people DO steal. Donāt get me wrong I am not playing a race card here but it was apparent to me that we were being profiled although there were many other people in the store however the only security alerts the entire time were where me and my wife were. I was very disappointed I went to war for this country and nothing has changed it was obvious what was happening. I will never shop at another Michaelās or any other store that is affiliated with the Michaelās chain of stores and I advise anyone of color to not shop there and to boycott every last one of their locations nationwide. We as a collective must make TPTB respect our dollar if not us, it is powerful and plays is an integral part in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent today to purchase ribbons and wreath materials. When I went to get the scissors they were locked up so I went to the front and asked the sales associate for assistance. She went to get the magnet to release them and I went back to the scissors. A few minutes went by and I saw her helping someone else. Another few minutes went by and she was nowhere to be seen. I waited another couple minutes and just ripped the top of the scissor container to take it from the wall as no one was coming. I went to the front to check out and the associate saw me and asked if I got them. I told her I had just torn the top to get them. They were $16.99 on the wall - the price was attached to the same piece that the whole group of scissors was locked on to. I was checking myself out and they rang up at $29.99. I called the same associate over and asked if they would honor their own marked price. She ran the item with her scanner and said no, they are $29.99. I said but your wall says the price is $16.99. She said people sometimes move the items to which I reminder her that they had been locked down on the display. No one accidentally moved them. The manager is called and she goes back to check on the item. She sees that the entire display was incorrectly priced for those scissors and instead of even coming back to the front, she tells the associate to tell me that essentially even though they are mismarked on their display they will not honor the price but will bring me the pair that should have been $16.99. What kind of company doesnāt honor their own price display? What retail manager doesnāt know that in error, the customer is right? This store is at least 2x the price of competitors and their lack of customer service makes the convenience of their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRecommend against coming here for framing unless you know precisely what you want and youāre confident this is the cheapest option. Dude who works in the framing department is rude, unhelpful, and overcharged me.
Came in primarily to get custom cut mats for photos and frames I already have. I had found a year-old Reddit post with Michaelās employees discussing how they typically charge little to nothing to custom cut mats purchased in store. So I was surprised when Iām told the total to cut 2 $10 mats was $170.
I did agree to purchase, but express that Iām confused by what I read online as Iām checking out. I guess this guy gets offended that asked how long he had worked there, if he had heard about what I read, if there was a changing policy, etc. Dude acts like Iām crazy and trying to argue the price when Iām literally paying for it right there, and also mutters āJesus Christā under his breath as I leave.
So I called another store to gut check the price after I left, and they quoted $40 for the same thing. So I have to call and go back this store to cancel the order and get a refund.
I have 3 other things I need framed that I brought with to discuss and get priced, I but decided against framing here when this guy tells me heās the primary person who works the framing dept at this location. Framing is super expensive and involves a lot of decision making, so I prefer to work with someone friendly who knows what theyāre doing and makes helpful...
