Lennys Grill and subs is competing in a crowded field with what seems like a dwindling market. However there are times when you just need a complete meal in the palm of your hand. And that’s where these various sandwich shops can be a good alternative. Lennys compete well in this field. They have a broad sandwich menu including a fairly decent cheesesteak. Unfortunately you can’t point and choose to your specific fixings to go with your sandwich like some of the others. The customer has to essentially identify on the board what they want and they’ll fix it and bring it to you. Not sure if this is a Covid issue or not but that was a little disappointing. Also they don’t toast their sandwiches they offer - they offered to microwave it but toasting vs. microwave is a world apart. On the plus side the sandwiches were meaty, the fixings were fresh and the bread was soft. Now you can only choose between wheat and white bread but the white bread I ordered was a very nice complement to the sandwich. Also in this day and age, the fact that that there was significant sit down room so that everyone can spread out was also a big plus for Lenny’s . They do have some outdoor seating although it seems to be fairly limited. I do know if you are on the go and you need a quick meal, Lenny’s is a good choice particularly if you want to sit down...
Read moreI normally come during the day but today I left work late hoping that I caught the store open before they close at 9pm. I’m giving them a 1 star because as I am leaving work and driving down 1960 I pass by and notice they’re open, sign and inside all lit up. Yes I apologize for being the late customer that walks in minutes before you close (8:56pm). However by the looks of the lights I assumed it was still open. Granted I am sitting in the parking lot now writing this review minutes later because as I walked up I noticed an employee by the register on her cellphone as if there’s no rush for closing. So I really thought okay so they really will stay open til 9pm... nope, door’s locked. She looks up because I tug on the door, she walks around puts phone in her back pocket and grabs a rag and signals to me that they’re closed. I took two separate pictures so you can see below. If you look closely, in the one with the lights on she is cleaning with her rag (open sign and lights still on).. and in the second picture lights are off and now she is back at the register probably closing her register out. 🤷🏻♀️
I had a long and hard day, maybe I’m just venting, but I feel like I was let down and deceived. I will most likely end up going to the Subway down the street by Kenswick Forest...
Read moreI've been in many times and the cashier today was rude... I didn't know what the guy in front of me ordered but he was standing in the middle of the open area in front of the cash register instead of where he orders his cold sandwich. So I proceeded to tell the ladies my son only wanted lettuce on his sandwich. When I get told I cutted. When he was no where near the counter.... so I backed up and when a second lady came up and asked what we wanted on his sandwich I told her just lettuce... she politely obliged so we continued to the cash register... and waited... and waited.... while this guy made a very complicated and specific sandwich.... then I was told I had to move so he could check out first..... is this how it works here?? So If I order a hot sandwich and there are 5 people in front of me with cold sandwiches am I supposed to wait in line while allll of them have their unique sandwiches made or can I go straight to the cashier??? Please explain to me how this works here because the attitude I received was mind boggling and when I asked her if that is how it worked all she said was, well he was here...
