I first walked into Little Jimmy's about 7 years ago. It's crazy to think how long it's been. I discovered this place my freshman/sophmore year of college and looking back now, so much has changed in my life in that time. Graduating, careers, relationships--I've experienced so many changes and even though I appreciate the changes, I do sometimes miss the "good old days". Even though I can never go back to those times, walking into Little Jimmy's is the closest thing to a time machine for me because even after 7 years, nothing has changed in the best way possible.
Besides the new location (which is great), everything else has remained the same since the first time I walked in. And it's perfect. From the way you order, to the person who rings you up (which is George btw), to the ingredients used, I'm so impressed with the consistency of this place. It's so consistent in all the best ways possible, it seems too good to be true. And I can speak on the consistency because ever since I've been coming here, I've ordered the SAME sandwich, every. time. And I've never gotten bored of it, never gotten curious to try anything else, never had it taste different, so when I say this place is consistent--it's consistent. I love the ingredients they use. From the breads to the veggies, to the meats, I knew this place was special when I never eat tomatoes on anything but always order it here. This place truly made me believe that any ingredient can taste good to anyone--it just has to be made right.
Customer service is great. Come enough and George remembers your name. I see him talking to clients about their own personal lives, and even though George never really asks me about my personal life, it's crazy to think that this man has been serving me the best sandwiches I've ever had for the past 7 years of my life, during all the ups and downs I was going through. When everything in my life was unstable and uncertain, his delicious food was something I could count on.. Hahah sounds so dramatic.
I love this place. I love the food, I love how George runs it, I love everything about it. I've been coming for so long now that I not only go back for the food, I also go back just to make sure they're doing alright. Isn't that crazy? I've never felt that way about any other business. I literally think to myself "man I haven't been to Little Jimmy's in awhile. Let's see how they're doing." Like WHAT? Crazy, I know.
I don't know what the next 7 years of my life will be like. It's kinda scary to think about to be honest. But if I ever need a mental break and just slow time down for a little bit, I know exactly where to go.
Here's to another...
Read moreI work around the corner, and a colleague suggested I try this place. we were hungry after a meeting and wanted breakfast, so I was excited to give this place a try. I just left this deli. The omelette I ordered was amazing; even the toast was delicious. However, the level of disrespect in which this man (assuming he's the owner because he said he's been there for 13 years) spoke to a delivery driver in front of us and other customers was absolutely deplorable. He was angry and completely disrespectful. My friend paid for our breakfast, so that is the ONLY reason I proceeded with taking my food. I was literally in the middle of placing my order when this short-tempered, short man, who's ego is probably bigger than his eggplant (shrimp), interrupted me to disrespect the delivery driver. I called from my office to advise him to never behave that way again in front of customers; of course, his toddler-like mind couldn't accept constructive criticism, so I'm sure he will continue to throw tantrums as he clearly has done for years according to the other reviews here. This man needs a therapist and probably a job/business he loves other than working at a deli for 13+ years. If you guys could have seen the rage in this man's face and the tone of anger spewing through the crooked, discolored teeth in his mouth, you'd be appalled as well. This man is a bully with mental problems, and every chance I get, I will bully him as well. Game on. You deserve every bit of hate coming your way. I should reach out to my friends at the news station about this, but I'll start by sharing this experience with everyone at my company that is within walking distance to his little deli that he...
Read moreShort review: The food is terrific, the service is quick, and the staff is great. I have enjoyed everything I have tried on the menu.
Long review: I have been going to Little Jimmy’s for years, so this review will be lengthy.
Food/Drinks: I have tried multiple breakfast items, sandwiches, bagels, sides, and desserts. Everything has been fresh and delicious. The breakfast hash and omelet are the items I go to most if I am not in the mood for a sandwich. On the side, I’ll usually get a fruit cup or chocolate chip cookie. I also wanted to commend Little Jimmy’s on their large drink selection. Having energy drinks available for lunch is great.
Service: I’m always impressed at how quickly everything is ready, especially during the lunch rush. Even when it gets packed full of people, the orders still get filled quickly. Thus, if you are ever there and it looks busy at noon, just wait a little while and it will clear out quick as everyone gets their orders. Also, the staff is very friendly – after a few weeks of going, they learned my name and frequent orders.
Summary: This is the kind of local sandwich shop you hope to have in your area. The food and service are top-notch and you are bound to find something on the menu you love. If you are not from the area, it is...
