Hi I want to share my experience at the hair salon with my hair dresser (Kendall Propst). Im a very stubborn person when it comes to letting anyone mess with my hair. Kendall reassured me that I would like the cut.
I started with my hair below my shoulders and just cut it by a few inches every time I got it cut until I found a length and style I liked. It also helps to find a few styles you like and ask my stylist (Kendall Propst) what she thought would look best. She was able to help me figure out what would look best for my round face.
I'm a 'throw caution to the wind' kinda gal with my hair now. I used to be super conservative with cuts like the rest of the people.
Kendall gave me a super funky short cut which I loved. It was too short to pull back into a ponytail but short enough to tuck behind my ears. I have been keeping it short now for several years. So I chopped it all off again! It wasn't nearly as traumatic as the first time, because I'd learned that hair really does grow back - short cuts are fun as hell. So my advice is to look at craploads of photos (googling 'round face short haircuts' delivers some amazing options) and really think about what you want. What's your motivation? People who 'desperately need a haircut' are usually talking about trimming off split ends.. but you're talking about going shorter. So why do you want to go shorter? maybe because you want a change? shake things up? if that's the case, I say jump in your car and get to the salon and ask for Kendall Propst . Youāll love your new haircut -...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been incredibly picky about my hair for as long as I can rememberāI had the same hairdresser for 25 years! So when my niece Kendall became a stylist and asked me to give her a chance, I was hesitant. Sheās young, trendy, and definitely more in tune with current hair styles, and she convinced me to step out of my comfort zone and let her work her magic.
Iāll be honest: change is hard for me, especially when it comes to my hair. But Kendall has been nothing but patient, thoughtful, and so understanding every step of the way. I struggled with the idea of moving from traditional highlights to balayage, but she helped me ease into it slowly and with confidence. Her eye for color, precision with styling, and ability to listen and adapt have made the process not just tolerableābut exciting.
Now, two years later, I can say that trusting her was absolutely the right move. My hair has never looked better, and Iāve actually come to love the modern touches sheās brought in. Kendall is not only an amazing stylist, sheās truly gifted at meeting people where they are and helping them feel beautiful while growing into...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the best little spot! The stylists are so friendly, and very much at ease and comfortable with all hair types and requests. There were clients of all ages and hair types when I was last there. They are easy to talk to, and donāt exhibit any of the snootiness you may experience at other salons, especially in this area. Itās a lovely open concept salon, with plenty of space, lighting, quite clean with beautiful orchids scattered throughout.
I personally go to Bridget Snow, one of the owners, who is absolutely wonderful, and Iāve followed her from one of the other established salons in River Oaks. She treats you as a friend, and knows exactly how to handle my hair. I feel even more confident when I walk out of the salon, and look forward to the next appointment. She...
