"Mambo Seafood on Hillcroft just north of Bellaire Blvd.is the BEST of ALL Mambo Seafood locations"! I have been going for several years now and the food is always consistently good.I get the"Salmon Zarrinado".It is just slightly spicy but,perfect! It comes with shrimp fried rice and grilled mixed vegetables and a dinner roll.There is a wide variety of seafood selections if you want anything else.There is even "live lobster"cooked to order! The dinning area has been enlarged to better accommodate guests.They also have a bar area you can sit at and eat as well as order a variety of beverages.The beverages will easily accommodate everyone's favorite choices even traditional Mexican beverages as well.I love that! The only missing item on the menu is desserts.There would be room for at least homemade"Flan"or "Tres Leches"but, at this time no one feels anyone is"deserving"of these desserts! CRAZY!!! The wait staff as well as dining area staff are always nice and friendly.I would recommend having a pair of "ear plugs"! The music volume in the entire dining area is at volume"9" out of the possible"10"! This is also CRAZY given that most guests talk during their dining experience NOT get up and dance like in a night club!!! There are several large screen TV's around the restaurant to keep you informed of "World Soccer"events.If you happen to attend a "World Series"sporting event in the restaurant the entire restaurant is involved in the FUN! It is a family oriented spot.There is also plenty of parking outside with a security person visible if needing assistance with any situation needing their help.The restrooms are usually clean and the staff at closing all assist in the clean-up for the following day.I recommend "Mambo Seafood"especially the "HILLCROFT"location to have affordable...

Absolutely amazing food at an absolutely amazing price. I'll admit I was skeptical since the neighborhood looks slightly sketchy, but this is a nice, clean place. Compared to a place like Pappadeaux, THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!! The price is 1/2 to 1/3 of what you'd pay there and the food is just as good!!!

The atmosphere is casual, not fine dining, and the drink selection is limited, but they have great Micheladas and margaritas -- what else do you need? In the spring time the patio is great too!!!

I love the raw oysters and they are really fresh with nice clean shells. They have horseradish, but you have to ask for it. If you ask they'll bring it with no problem. A nice place to bring my kid, a family friendly restaurant for sure.

Only issue I have is that during peak times their waitstaff situation can get a bit confusing and the wait can be half an hour or more. During busy times it seems like the staff divides tasks (one refills drinks, one takes plates, one brings food etc) so there's a bunch of staff milling around but you never really know who your waitress is or what the heck is going on. They're always polite, but confusing and a little inefficient. Some have limited English but they really try to accommodate you and for the most part make do.

But overall it's TOTALLY worth it, today I had two cheladas, a coffee, half a dozen raw oysters, a whole fried tilapia and fries (all delicious) for $36 including the 20 percent tip. WHAT????????? Try THAT at Pappas!!! I don't think so!!!!

I called in an order today at around 7:20pm I was 30 mins away from this location off Hillcroft. I don't remember the girl's name who took my order but when I drove all the way out there since that was the closest to me, she said I DIDN'T order what I had know I did order. Which was a platter fish & shrimp on chipotle sauce w/fries and veggies(extra $1.50 I think) and 1 small shrimp fried rice. Well she (the 1 took my order over the phone) was the 1 at the cahsier when I was there to pick up my order, anyways it really made me mad that she was arguing with me instead of helping me and correct my order. I was so mad I wanted to punch her in the face but instead I walked out & said if this is how they treat their clients I'd rather take my service somewhere else where I the customer is treated right!! So I did I went to another restaurant and got exactly what I wanted plus some and at a cheaper price, who knew lol So I guess she did me a favor! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT LOCATION EVER & I ALREADY TOLD MY CLOSEST FAMILY IF THEY DO GO THERE WATCH OUT CAUSE...
