Nothing beats the magic of going to moody at 3am to get the breakfast bowl. There's a good amount of seating, although sometimes it is too full to sit. A nice place to enjoy some food and be with friends. One note though is that they have removed any to-go availability, which used to be a big plus of the place. Sometimes the people are rude, but overwhelmingly these are nice people and dependable service. I would recommend going in the morning, as the price of entry changes throughout the day. Once you are inside, you can stay forever. There's a bathroom and outlets, so you can go in to do some work and basically pay $10 for unlimited food for as long as you want.

Went there on a Friday for the buffet with our red t-shirts on for the discount :). There was a decent variety of choices, including halal options. We tried a few dishes, and while the selection was good, the food itself was just okay. Some items lacked flavor and didn't stand out. Overall, it was an average dining experience.

Need more improvement to variety of dishes and should be open longer hour or maybe more shifts of staffs. People paid money to the dining service already and would like to see great food at school. Houston is famous for diversified food and not far away from campus. New contract improved all this #studentdininghall

Full disclosure, I visited four days during a week in the summer while I was attending a training on campus. I did some research about the prices — Lunch is $8.50, dinner is $9.50, and the cheapest meal plan for residents is $1,650. You think that you’d be getting at least mediocre food, right? Nope. This cafeteria food is just as limited and low quality as any other. According to their website their food should be labeled with symbols that indicate whether an item is vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. However, not only was literally no food labeled, when I asked politely about the possibility about getting gluten free bread for their sandwich bar (because nothing else was edible with my dietary restrictions) I got looked at like I had antennae sticking out the top of my head. The food was boring and low quality, and it was the same every day. Meal plans are a joke and a rip off at every college, but students should demand more for...

This place is disgusting every plate is filthy with food from the previous night. Don’t get me started on the dish pit area that’s never clean food and plates everywhere. The workers always have an attitude with some taking forever to serve food. I understand the feeling of not wanting to work but have enough self control to not take it out on people especially the students. Now finally the food every dish is bland leaving much to be desired. I’m not expecting 5 star food but it would be nice to have a decent meal with flavour every night it’s baked chicken or just another baked protein. I know there’s at least one grill or fryer in the kitchen. For college students food is essential it gives you something to look forward to after a day of learning. But don’t expect that here if anything you’ll frustrate yourself realising that you spent 3,000 on...

The staff is incredibly rude, especially in the morning. I came to eat before going to the gym and there was no food being served. I walked up to one of the stations to wait, and one of the men told me they were closed. So on top of the food not being fresh almost everyday and the customer service being terrible, the dining hall is also not 24hrs like indicated. I sat there for an hour and there was still no food being served. I had places to be and going to the gym on an empty stomach is not ideal. It sucks that not only did I HAVE to pay for this terrible service and dining, but that I don’t even get access to it nor do I have another option because I pay for school out of my own pocket. UH has got to do better for us students, because this...
