The first time I ever rated 5 for a restaurant, and will definitely come back with my family.
5 for cleanliness. The place looks new with savory, irresistible phở aroma. Location is convenient with plenty of parking. 5 for service: the waiter actually smiles and offers all the condiments for pho! The smiling lady owner (?) even serves a complimentary banana for desert! 3.5 for phở itself, broth and meat. 5 for phở condiments: plates of herbs, pickled onion anh green onion bulbs. The herbs include asian basil, culantro, rice paddy herb (húng quế, ngò gai, ngò ôm), sprouts, lime, jalapeno. Impressed. Most pho places only serve asian basil and sprouts, without smiles. The herbs add a layer of tasty complexity unique to phở, giving it an enhancing effect. 5 for total restaurant experience. Will definitely come back to try bún riêu and bún măng vịt, or crab cake noodle soup and duck asparagus noodle soup, 2 Vietnamese dishes that are hard to get right...
Read moreThis is a pho restaurant that has been in Houston for a long time, and every time my family and I come by from out of state we always come here whenever we crave pho! It’s ran by this sweet old Vietnamese woman (who I’m assuming is the owner) and the service is always quick and friendly. The decor of the place is typical like any other old school pho places and the space is pretty narrow, but we didn’t mind all of that since it’s not a modernized place.
For food, I got their Pho Dac Biet (Special Pho) at a large size ($13.50) and my mom got their Bun Mang Vit (Duck Vermicelli Soup with Cabbage Salad) at a large size as well ($14.50). Prices were decent. Everything was hot and delicious! Also if you ask them for “Xi Quach, which means Bone Marrow with meat, they will give you one with no charge… and trust me it’s HUGE! Overall, nice old school Pho restaurant that, although not aesthetic, has a special charm to it with their simplicity and...
Read moreThis is the best place for Pho in Houston. My only complaint is that it is so far from my house, which is probably a good thing because I'd be tempted to eat there everyday.
They also serve Bun Rieu. I always tell myself that I will try it on the next visit, but I always find myself not wanting to pass up the chance to eat their Pho.
The broth is perfect and, unlike most Pho restaurants, they give you a lot of meat and don't just fill up your bowl with extra noodles.
They serve Tai Filet, but the regular Tai is soft enough that you don't have to spend extra for quality meat.
They also give you plenty of veggies and lime, and I find it to be a bonus that the owners and staff seem to truly appreciate your business. They are some of the kindest people...
