Refresqueria Tampico — Restaurant in Houston

As born and raised second ward residents my wife and i have been long time patrons of Refresqueria Tampico. We all grew up spending our allowances to buy raspas, aguas frescas, elotes, liquados, and more. I recently noticed they no longer sell horchata. What kind if refresqueria are yall not to sale this traditional aqua fresca??? Then today my wife requested her favorite raspa de leche con crema. My wife came back a bit upset. She sipped her raspa to find it DRY...no jugo! So she went back to kindly request that the lady splash a bit more leche syrup because we all know that when you buy a Tampico raspa its made with lots of juice/syrup. My wife didnt want to think that the Tampico employee was being prejudice upon her...but it seems she may have. My wife is Chicana. My wife did notice the employee giving her unsettling looks because my wife used spanglish as she did forget certain spanish words when ordering. The employee did serve the appropriate amount of syrup but seemed displeased as she knew she SKIMMPED on the leche syrup in thr first place. If you treat your own gente like that...that have been loyal customers...then we will make our own refresqueria... To show our gente love and how we should treat one another. Sincerely,...

After passing and passing by this Refrescaria Tampico for many years we decided to give it a try. SO we got to the window, No menu to show Where only 2 food signs like HOT DOGS and NACHOS on their front window counter. Ok so the Front Person came to the window looking all PISSED! didn't greet and stood there giving us a terrible facial expression. I asked her? If they had Mangonadas and she rudely answered like I was twisting her arm to talk. her response to Yes was very Rude! My husband agreed to have the same, and She walks away and starts making our Fruit smoothie. "Mangonada" she turns around and is not wearing no hairnet and as I Observed her she didnt wash her hands as she handled our food. As a never to return Customer your establishment gets a 1 from us if there was a 0 that is what your place of Buisness would get. We were there around 1pm in the afternoon she was short had a blonde pony tail we found another place down the street that was happy to serve us and Greeted us as Customers...

I love mostly everything here,😊but I am addiced to their Corn in a cup 🌽 and Liquado de Mango 💛! I Dnt really mind the drive but it would be nice for the ladys to be a bit friendlier they look annoyed most of the time which I understand working so hard all day...but still it would be nice to be greated by a friendly face rather than a annoyed one I suggest the owner brakes them in shifts that might help..Anyways 😒..Great place that is their only down fall and the tables can be a little sticky nost of the times the only reason I mind is because I'm scared of Bee's 😂🐝😲 but yeah And im saying this because I grew up coming here we would walk all the way when no one would bring us 🙃😒😂🏃 And the ladys always seem like this 👹👺...Anyways come...
