So I am a recent regular at Ruchis . I love the place because it's cozy and dim . I always get food to go by pickup. Often I put the order in and in 5-6 minutes it's ready for pickup and all I got to do is grab and go . So today I'm expecting the same experience. But I get there and the pickup section of the bar is empty . So I'm like maybe it's being cooked I look at the line . And the cooks are just hanging around talking texting and rubbing their face and head and cap I'm talking about the guy that is wearing a red shirt today . He was rubbing everything. And of course he's doing some of the cooking . So eventually the bartender came over and she asked for my name and order . And I'm showing her the confirmation number via text . She's like no I need the order information . So I pulled up my email and showed her my phone and then I gave it to her she went to tell the cooks so I'm assuming she saw the whole order and told them about no refried beans . No she didn't because I saw the guy in the red shirt handle buns and flour tortillas with no gloves and nobody washed their hands and he slaps the refried beans on the torta . I understand the food industry I work around food and yesterday at my job I had to take a food service certificate course . So I am watching all the don'ts . Even with tongs and spatula you still should be washing your hands and wearing gloves because all of the biohazard and food allergies . So they are opening themselves to a lot of health code violations. I just took my food home and recooked it. I scraped off the beans and I just cooked my torta again just to kill the germs . So I just saw that I have coupons for Ruchis because I order from there often . But I am sad to say I won't be using the coupons nor am I going back . I will just catch the bus to ninfas or walk to El tiempo for Tex...
Read moreToday was the third trip i've made to the Ruchi's on Westheimer and have had miserable service... but today crossed the line. I've tried to comment to a manager but there wasn't one. I was going to send an email to the company, but there wasn't one. I was going to send a private message to the company on Facebook but there wasn't one.. so, here we go publicly .. I went to the Westheimer location today for breakfast tacos. I ordered 2 tacos, orange juice, and water. My water came from a server wearing BLUE rubber gloves because she and another employee were cleaning .. so her cleaning gloves being used on scrubbing rags on filthy surfaces now were wrapped around my glass of water.. fine.. I'll use a straw. I never got my orange juice. We never got chips or salsa. Our food came out and we had no utensils, no chips, no salsa.. and still no orange juice. We asked for the green sauce and got a little bowl that made it through out tacos.. nobody ever came back to our table. No refills on water, nobody to tell we didn't get orange juice, and still no utensils. I got up and went to the register to pay the bill.. Had her remove the orange juice, paid and left. WITHOUT A SINGLE WORD SPOKEN TO ME AT ALL.. I would have contacted the company without posting a review but they apparently do NOT want to hear from their customers.. NO email to be found anywhere, no messenger on Facebook.. This was the latest in horrible service but the filth of cleaning gloves serving my food plus the bad service plus nasty restrooms and fairly dirty dining room indicates total and complete lack of training. I'm sure they will get a visit from the Health Department soon that will turn up all sorts of violations to back up my...
Read moreWorst Customer Service Hands Down! Will never step inside this place ever again. The wait time for the patio is absurd even though they have a list system set up. I waited for more than an hour to get seated and I only got seated at the patio after numerous complaints to several employees who all swore there was no manager available even though the restaurant was very busy. When we finally got seated I was going to step out for a smoke and a rude waitress came up to me and was shaking her finger in my face because she thought I was gonna get the table she had ready for someone who had just walked in the door. I told her not to shake her finger in my face cause I was already not having it with the service there. I witnessed people come in wait and sit down as soon as they saw someone get out and the waiters cleaned the tables and let them sit there disregarding the seating list. After that I asked the waitress for her name and she rudely walked away and I tapped her shoulder and I said hey I’m talking to you and she yelled at me that she was gonna sue me and kick me out with the police officer on site. The police officer was polite and I explained to him what happened and while I was explaining that I was simply asking for her name she rudely interrupted and said I don’t have to give you my name. I told her you work here you’re supposed to give your name when asked or if you don’t want to at least carry a name tag or something. I ended up leaving cause the police officer said “You’re welcome to leave if you want” because he saw me walking to the door. This was a very distasteful visit and I do not recommend this place at all. Take your business somewhere where it is...
