The Gallery — Attraction in Houston

The Gallery is such a beautiful venue and we had the most amazing experience with them! The whole team is so great to work with and was so flexible with us with everything related to COVID and made the process so much smoother when there were alot of stressful details to work out. While our wedding didn't go the way we originally planned as we decided to significantly reduce our guestlist, it turned out more beautiful than we could have imagined! We originally were expecting 200+ guests and ended up with only around 75 people and the space still was perfect. I feel like the venue is really flexible for accommodating a smaller or larger group and there are so many different ways that you can set up with the venue which they will help with. I was worried that it would feel too big but it really was the perfect size with us using the downstairs for the reception and the upstairs for the cocktail hour and some extra tables upstairs in case anyone wanted to social distance. The team had everything set up exactly how we requested and made the day so much easier. They were also VERY accommodating on us dropping off all of our stuff and getting everything to the venue (since it is alot more than you think). While we were unloading, we realized that my Mom had a flat tire which is not what you need when you are worrying about a wedding. The owner was so gracious and helpful and sent one of the team members to help my Dad change the tire when it was VERY hot outside. They really cared and went above and beyond the services they were contracted to make our experience stress free throughout the whole process. Eboni answered so many questions for me and they were always very prompt to follow up either via email or getting on a phone call. From a decoration perspective, the venue is so beautiful on its own that you really don't need to add too much which makes it more cost effective and easier to plan. They have great vendor suggestions and I highly recommend using these vendors that have worked with the venue over and over because they know what will look great and know the team at the Gallery and help make the process even smoother as well. If you're interested in The Gallery, I would walk on. I signed and cancelled my contract within 24 hours. After some delay in contacting me, I was replied to with a "no refund" policy and receipt dated after my cancellation date. Paula read my request to cancel then charged my card and lied to me, saying it had been run when my contract was submitted. This was a lie and also illegal.

They are practically impossible to contact. They are always out of town or away from the office. Myself and my fiancee's mother tried to contact them daily for two weeks while she was in town to see the venue we thought we were stuck with. Rather than call anyone who tried to contact them by phone, they emailed my fiancee to tell him we can see it anytime. This was after she finally showed up uninvited to see someone. The only man there knew nothing about anything but let her view the place. This was November. My wedding date was in January. My frustration to speak to anyone regarding my day was growing with every unanswered call and email.

I finally got a call from Kim while I was viewing another venue. When confronted about the validity of my contract, Kim offered me a full refund and requested a termination of contract notice. I received a delivery receipt for the email I sent with my notice on 12/31/14. It is now, 1/15/15 and no one has contacted me. Their automated reply has changed since so it is obvious they have been back to the office. My booked date has been made available on their website but no refund has been made.

I don't trust these people as they have given me no reason to. I am furious. I had to re-plan my entire wedding and move it to March. On top of that, I am having to chase down my money that was never rightfully theirs. I am not cancelling a contract because the contract was never valid. Therefore, my money is due to me and has been due to me since the time they charged my credit card.

If you work for The Gallery and have read this review, know that I am trying to contact you. I suggest you contact me in regard to this, ASAP.

I just had my wedding there two weeks ago and WOW!

When I was looking at venues in Houston I almost gave up hope to try to find a venue that was in our budget that was relatively close to downtown. I was about to give up hope until I stumbled upon the Gallery and it was a miracle that I did! Eboni was AMAZING to work with. Always there and available to answer any questions. I loved the fact that whenever you sign a contract you can always visit the property unannounced as long as there is not an event. We had our dancing part of the reception outside which was BEAUTIFUL! I don’t know why people don’t do that honestly! It was beautiful and beyond my expectations. Cafe Natalie was fantastic! Everyone is still talking about the food and our Dj (Manny DaSilva) went above and beyond! I’ve been to many weddings and have been dissapointed with the music but he delivered.

Literally I can’t think of a better way I could have had my wedding. Love these people and you will not be...
