Okay, I'm not sure why the people who own / manage this place or work here are just rude and trying to get people out the door.
I was shopping for three different people, and asked for a few items to be separated. The look I get when I asked for the chocolate to be separated because three people CAN'T be in one place to share the chocolate.
Furthermore, I asked for the chocolate to be separated as I have to drive an hour in between each person and didn't want it soaking. It's an easy thing to do but you have to get permission? She gave me a tub, but when I told her I needed them separated (as I stated 2x) the first time I ordered the strawberry Dubai chocolate cups, the cashier came back with a small solo cup for each one. Aside from that, the chocolate strawberry cups were great.
I then saw my favourite thing, and the very reason I drove 1.5 hours to get here for them. I just wanted a handful )possibly half a pound), and was told they were NOT able to do it as they can only be sold by the pound. I can't go ordering a whole entire pound to waste food if I don't finish it. That item was just for me.
The interactions here was ridiculous. Especially when I asked if they had dark chocolate Dubai bars, and was given this look as if I was asking the stupidest questions. It was hard to see into the glass with the glare coming from the street.
I end up, not tipping as great as I normally would. Actually I undertipped for their counter service. The woman helping me looked at my receipt to see how much I tipped her, and made this face at me.
Quite sad when you made it seem like an inconvience to serve me, and then get mad when I do not tip appropriately. I spent well over a hundred dollars here buying treats for others. What's even worse is the emotions that went into these treats. Whilst the chocolate bars were great, the pistachio cakes were a complete failed. They did not taste good. I asked the people I purchased them for. It doesn't mean their other cakes aren't great. Some of the cakes looks fantastic.
I'm sure it won't matter to them that this will be my first and only time ever shopping here. It was truly disappointing as I saw so many treats I wanted to come back for. Quite sad considering how much I spend every week on Middle Eastern treats / deserts/ coffee and making the 1.5 hour drive into Houston to purchase...
Read morekunafa was one of the best I've ever had, even when I reheated it the next day after being in the fridge overnight. I got two slices of cake as well, one slice of pistachio, and one slice of mocha, and while I appreciate that, they are not overly sweet. It kind of reminds me of cake at Asian bakeries because it's extremely subtle in flavor. At least the pistachio one was and it's heavily dyed so even though it's pretty, it did hurt my stomach. The mocha one obviously I know it's supposed to taste like coffee, but that's the only flavor I was getting. the pistachio cake itself was dry, but the mocha one was not, but for five dollars each that's very reasonable comparatively. I didn't really taste any sweet at all. I also got this other dessert and honestly, I'm not sure what it's called, the way the guy described it I thought the cream would taste similar to whipped cream, but to be completely honest, it was not a pleasant by whatsoever. It just tasted like perfume genuinely no sweet to it, nothing that rose syrup could fix. The employee that helped me was friendly And the store was clean, I spent $20 for everything I got, which is not bad if you do not get the viral items they have the prices not terrible and I also saw their realistic, fruit pastries, and while they were cute, a couple of them didn't look that great like the banana doesn't look realistic enough for $14 and they should really all have a description of what's inside them because the employees don't always even know what the inside of each one is and I feel like it would save time from asking questions about every single item in the store. I do see some of the cases have labels but when you have 50+ flavors of Turkish delight, I'm not gonna ask the person what every single flavor is and I didn't know if they offered samples either so I didn't get any of that but it's overwhelming to have to ask what it item is. also I did not like how they packaged my cake slices because I feel like they should either each be in their own box or have some kind of thing in the box that prevents them from tipping into each other because they were touching and had tipped over by the...
Read moreManagement is rude and uncooperative. I tried to order a custom cake that they have done before on their website. It was kind of short notice so I was wondering if they can do it or not and how much it will be.
It would be completely understandable if they couldn’t because they want orders to be submitted 4 days prior instead of 3. That is not the problem.
I called the store to ask if they can make it with that timeline and told them which cake, the girl said she has no idea what cake I am talking about and to submit an inquiry on the website, that would be the only way to tell me if they can make it on time and the price.
I told her that was perfect, and went to the website to put in the required info, but when I submit it, it show an error message and doesn’t submit. I tried again later, then with my laptop, then my friend phone, it’s seems like it’s a website error. So I called back. Another lady picked up and told me the person in charge is not there and to try the website again, I told her I already tried multiple times, she took my number, name, and said they will call back. They never did, and they are not picking up when I call.
If the timeline is the issue I would completely understand and simply try somewhere else. The only reason I was trying to make it work is because I like their business/desserts and my family was their costumers for years. The issue is they keep telling me to submit the inquiry to see the price or if they can get it done but their website doesn’t work. I want to know the price of the cake because I have multiple occasions and can order it ahead of time, but they refuse to give me an estimate price even though it’s one of their previous work.
I am disappointed in their representation of Arab businesses because they have always been rude in general. I tolerated it as I am Arab and I like their dessert, but this is my...
