Their lemonade is awesome but their business practices are shady at best. This is the second time I've had an issue with billing. My receipt say one price but when I check my statements online, I notice Ranchito will give themselves tips that I did not authorize! I always get my order to go and the first time this happened, my order totaled $20 but when I checked my online statement, they charged my card for $82.00 (I originally thought it was $50 but my daughter corrected me)!! Today, the same thing happened. My order totaled $25 but I was charged $30.13. My daughter said the same guy who took her order today was the same guy who took her order the last time this happened. I have contacted the BBB regarding this matter. The food is decent but be mindful of your bill. Make sure to check your bank account online if you pay with your debit/credit card.
UPDATE They corrected my bill. Be very careful if you're paying with your credit/debit card and ALWAYS make sure to check your transactions with your bank to make sure they are adding extra. This is the second and last time I've come across this issue with this same business. The food is good but not good enough for me to take a chance with them stealing money from my...
Read moreRound 14:20, My family and I decided to dine in at this restaurant The Ranchito #1 on Bissonett. My children and I entered the restaurant, choose a table and took a seat, Shortly after the waitress named Martha walked towards our table. Martha asked to see my personal service dog license. I in- formed her that I didn't have a license for my service dog because in the state of Texas there isn't one. I was willing to show her my uthealth health record to show her that I have a psychiatric disability which includes ptsd, severe depression, severe fibromyal- gia, severe anxiety, and a double lumbar spine fusion. After all this explaining, Martha denied us service because of my ser- vice dog. She stated that, "the city of Houston" are the ones who requested the restaurant to ask customers for their service dog license. My civil rights have been vio- lated and I've been discriminated againt my disability. During this time my husband Eric Carr walks into the restaurant and sees all this disagreement going on so he suggested We get u and walk out for beign disrespect and discriminated against us. This restau- rant is not educated correctly with the ADA. Waiting on your response...
Read moreMy husband and I visited The Ranchito about 2 weeks ago. The food is ok, but nothing to brag home about. Make sure you say your entire order in Spanish, because if not the wait staff may not understand exactly what you want and may not bring you everything correctly. Most of our order was said in Spanish except a few words such as “ground beef enchiladas”. I ended up getting something else quite different. Although the meat is very tender, the carne guisada doesn’t taste as good as others I’ve tried. Another thing to note is that they will charge you extra for EVERYTHING you take in a to go container. This includes leftovers as well. From my “to go” box to my cup of Jamaica, there were ridiculous additional fees added to our bill. I’ve included the receipt for proof. The fees are labeled as “open food” and “24oz to go” even though I was drinking most of my Jamaica from that cup throughout the entire time I was in the restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this place. You’re better off going elsewhere where they don’t try to nickel and dime you for every little thing. I would highly recommend the following places if you haven’t tried them: La...
