I went here with my parents once before and it was great. Well, they have really gone down hill from there. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was feeling hungry and in the mood for sushi and I remembered how good Asian Harbor was. So I decided to have my lunch at Asian Harbor. Well, anyways, I went there and was seated immediately cause there was no one in there(now I know why). I ordered a Coke and was given a menu. I had my eye on one specialty roll called the "Pain In The A* Roll", swear that's what it was called. It seemed pretty promising so I decided to order it. When it came to my table I proceeded to eat it and was down right awful. The fish was dry almost like it had been sitting out on the kitchen counter for the whole night, and if that wasn't dry enough it was wrapped in some really crunchy stuff I couldn't identify. On top of that it was covered in something that tasted almost like BBQ Sauce. To make the matter worse, I wasn't even full even after eating it and it costed me $17.00. Instead of doing the smart thing and leaving for a restaurant that is better and cheaper, I decided to stay and order more food. After the waitress took my plate and asked me if I wanted to order anything else I replied yes and ordered the Miso Soup. It was actually pretty good and it only costed me $2.50. That's the only thing that I had that was good so far and it was the cheapest, go figure. After the impression that the Soup left me, I ordered one more thing. That one item was the California Roll. But unlike the Soup, it wasn't good. Like the "Pain In The A* Roll" I ordered before it was dry and tasteless. The California Roll costed me $6.00. All together including the three Cokes I had, the bill came out too $30.00! I was outraged and wouldn't eat there ever again. I still look back on that day and think what that $30.00 could have been used for other than terrible sushi. I'm saving you guys the money and trouble from eating at this place. if you want good sushi at a reasonable place, go...
Read moreI really enjoy the food from this restaurant, as well as the work staff. However, yesterday proved to change my feelings to the latter. The young lady in charge of seating and to-go orders was outright rude, and maintained a total disregard for polite, courteous customer service. From the moment I arrived to pick up my to-go order (chicken with green curry sauce), this young lady seemed completely annoyed by her job. Not once while did she look me in my eyes while I paid (not a big deal). She also didn't inform me of how much longer it would be (whether staying a few minutes or whatever). I arrived 10 minutes after I placed the order, and after reading through a magazine for 20 minutes I asked her if she knew what was talking so long. Her response, "There are other orders." Please bear in mind it was about 4 p.m. (slow) and there were only 2 tables seated. I requested her to inquire as to "how much longer it would take". She said, "It will be out in a few" while remaining steadfast behind the counter, not actually checking with the kitchen staff. I asked her what her problem was, and she cited it was me who had an attitude. I asked to speak with a manager, and again she refused stayed put and refused to get the manager. After reminding the young lady that an attitude such as hers will keep her in a "minimum wage paying position for LIFE", the manager comes out with my meal. Worse yet, she seemed just as unenthusiastic as the employee she managed. The level of professionalism at this restaurant is (currently) poor at best. In my teen and early 20's I worked in an Italian restaurant, and I've eaten out at so many different restaurants...never once have I come across such a disregard for customer service that I felt the need to review an...
Read moreAsian Harbor is by far our favorite place to eat. There are not enough great things that could be said! The owner, Kyle, and his beautiful family are the nicest, most genuine people you ever want to meet. He is an incredibly hard worker and the food quality is far beyond any other local restaurant. Their prices are reasonable in comparison to other places, but their food quality exceeds expectations. We’ve eaten at many, many places throughout New Jersey and Asian Harbor has consistently been at the top of our list. Our son begs for his chicken tatsuta every week and our daughter, who is only one, devours the tatsuta and the sweet potato rolls. My husband and I have not found anything on the menu that we didn’t absolutely love. During every pregnancy I have made it a point to tell my husband the first thing I want after delivery is Asian Harbors sushi pizza! Every chance we can, we promote Asian Harbor to our friends, coworkers, and families. Everyone who gives them a try raves about their food afterwards. Some of our favorite dishes include: sushi pizza, chicken tatsuta, avocado salad, yaki soba, pad Thai, incredible roll, sweet potato plus roll, eel avocado hand roll, hibachi fried rice, spider roll… honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything! Give them a try and you won’t regret it! Also, say hi to Kyle and his wife. They are awesome and will always treat you like family...
