So i had a cracked phone screen which was taken to CPR for repair, They "repaired"said phone screen. Good right? Wrong, the screen was installed incorrectly and as a result, when powering on the phone after a stint of being dead, the top of the screen which i place my thumb on the front screen like any other time turning it on(the LG G2 has it's power button in the back center top area, so it's easier to grab the phone on bother sides when turning it on) and crack the phone breaks horizontally along the top. I'm not that strong that i squeezed the phone so hard that it snapped under pressure, and after further inspection i could feel a slight down pitch along the break, indicating that the screen was not installed correctly (there must have been a gap under that area, otherwise it would just feel like a crack, not a crack and a down pitch on one side of the crack)
So i went there, and this snarky b*h is sitting at the front desk, and in a snarky i've-been-spoiled-my-whole-life kind way tells me immediately, before i can even explain to her what happened, that there is "no possible way that screen cracked without you dropping it".... ok let me talk to your manager. Manager comes out, who is the guy who fixes the phones, and tells me the same thing but took it one step further and essentially lectures me that i should have changed around my life schedule to get there sooner and also explained that the warranty doesn't cover cracks, which isn't what we were told when it was repaired, which was "doesn't cover breaks from falls"... so that set me off and i demanded to speak to his manager, who is the owner, Chris. the manager tried to go in the back to make the call but i made him stand in front of me as to prevent any chatter behind my back. The owner gets on the phone and basically tells me he doesn't want to hear it cause it's his day off, and then goes further with "you expect me to believe what you're saying here", so outright calling me a liar. That was it. My blood was boiling by this point and i used plenty of colorful language express what i felt like they and the company should go do to themselves.
Btw- here's two quick reasons why a screen could break without being dropped after a repair.
1.) Area that screen sits on isn't cleaned correctly, piece of dirt still on that area would cause pressure upwards on screen, which itself could cause a crack after installation, let alone the additional pressure applied when grabbing the phone.
2.) Area that hold on phone was damaged when the broken screen was taken off, causing dimple or indent under certain area of the screen, which needs a flat surface to sit on to function correctly, creating areas of give under even small amounts...
Read moreI called today at 3pm to look into getting my son's cell phone repaired. It was the 3rd or 4th time I or my wife had used them, including a time when they gave me excellent advice in purchasing a refurbished iPad original instead of trying to repair my iPad original to use for a professionally engineered podcast, which worked out incredibly. They were very transparent in telling me that repairing the phone would take up to 30 minutes and that if I wasn't there by 4:15 pm, there was no guarantee it could be repaired today. I ran my errands and showed up at 4:20 pm. When I got there they looked at it and informed me it wouldn't be a problem for them to fix it and have it done before they closed for the day. I sat and waited for it.
Soon after I sat to wait for it, another customer came in and told them that the family was away for the week and they only had a few minutes to spend at that exact moment to get it fixed and that they needed to do something or else the child would be without the phone for the weekend and how that just couldn't happen. As the gentleman was explaining the policy, the person interrupted saying that he/she knows the policy. Very politely, the man said he would see what he could do. He came back out and said the team will work on it and should have it done by 5 pm.
I must say I don't think I would have responded as calmly and as politely as the man did - especially if the customer had spoken the same way to me as he/she spoke to him.
Not only was I able to get my son's phone repaired but also I was able to witness amazing customer service and learn from it!
I can't imagine a situation in which I would use any other service other than Cell Phone Repair in Howell. Incredible people. Great service in a timely manner with very transparent policies and practices all at very...
Read moreI initially spoke with Craig about the repairs to my phone screen and camera lens. Craig was very helpful and upfront about the cost and the amount of time it would take to do the repair. Since the parts were not in stock, Craig was very clear on where the part would come from and the expected time of delivery. Once the part came in a few days later, Bob was the one that initiated the repairs only to find the new screen was defective. Bob was very helpful and apologetic, explaining that it seems the new screen was damaged in shipping. He said he would call the distributor immediately and have them overnight the replacement. The very next day I was able to bring the phone back and have it repaired in under 45 minutes (repair was supposed to take 1.5 hrs)! Phone is now brand new again. Thank you Craig and Bob for saving my phone and for being so patient, informative,...
