I live in St.Pete, but went to visit a couple friends in Hudson this weekend. We love dive bars and this one is on the water which is great. But the best part about our day was our bartender Alyssa. I don’t think I saw her without a smile once. We had stopped in a few months ago and when she saw us Saturday she remembered our entire order (there were 3-4 people with us) drinks and shots even down to lemon instead of lime for tequila.
We never had to wait for anything because of the attention she paid to everyone. We had so much fun we made it a point to go back on Sunday (her birthday) just to say hi.

Read moreThis is a quentacential old Florida gulf bar. It is cash only and they only sell wine and beer but the taps are cold and the service is good. There is local talent playing music, Very Talented Musicians, There was a wide array of people there. A nurse after her shift dancing to the tunes, middle aged couples on dates, older bikers, and a 76 year old man named "yahoo" a name given to the daredevil by Evil Conevel himself. There is a great waterfront porch to hang,drink,and play games outside and a 10.5ft alligator skin on the roof. It is a real "Shack Life" experience if ever you are curious. All in all...
Read moreExactly as promoted. Old school dive bar - cold beer, great prices, friendly service. Food / munchies is an upscale hotdog cart - with nachos and pulled pork available in the parking lot just off the deck - at least on Sundays. Music starts at 4, place fills up quickly with mostly locals - very laid back / eclectic crowd to say the least. Only knock is the smoking inside, but it kinda goes with the vibe. Is what it is. Absolutely a stop worth making for all of the above.
Probably at least 3 books worth of material from the assortment of characters therein, in a very entertaining way....
