I want to start off by saying I have been to Suzie’s Diner numerous times, and have been treated nicely by staff, received good service, and have been respected. That wasn’t the case when I went to Suzie’s February 28, 2023 for breakfast. I (mother) went with my 4 kids (ages 10,9,4,3) and my sister (first time visiting the diner) went with her 2 kids (ages 11,9). Upon entering the business we were greeted by one of the staff saying “oh they brought the whole family huh”! If I would’ve heard this I would’ve just left since it was such a hassle, but I didn’t hear. My sister later told me what was said. I didn’t recognize any of the staff, they all seemed fairly new. My son (3yo) wanted a sausage egg and cheese sandwich ($5 on menu) so I ordered that for him, our server said what kind of bread we wanted. I asked what are the options. She proceeded to give me 3 options (English muffin, bagel, or croissant). That’s it! When I received the check everything looked fine, except I was charged $7 for my sons sausage egg and cheese instead of $5. So I said oh no there is an error, no biggie, I’ll just let them know and they can easily fix that. JUST $2 DIFFERENCE! So I go up to pay for my meal and I let the “nice” lady know there was a small error. Ooooh what a terrible idea! EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE CAME OUT to see who dared to do something like that. A few just stood there watching with their arms crossed. My sister and I felt completely uncomfortable with the whole situation. If I knew something so simple would’ve created shame for my family and I, I would’ve NEVER even said anything. My waitress was nice, she said sorry I didn’t even know there was an up charge for that (she must’ve been new). SHE WAS THE ONLY UNDERSTANDING ONE!! Then an employee came with the whole menu and showed me where it said there was an up charge for certain breads. It said nothing of the sort in the sandwich section of the menu (where we ordered from). It was in a whole different place on the menu, maybe where the sides were listed. I was shocked she came to me to show me that instead of to the employee who said she didn’t even know! They took the $2 off the check but only after every employee gave us dirty looks! Like really $2!?!? I just regret even saying anything at all. Smh. I’m not someone who tries to get free food or get things deducted, but was certainly treated as though. I’ve spent plenty of money at Suzies and have recommended MANY people to go, but after this episode of rudeness I will NEVER step foot in this place again, and will make sure to warn my friends and family too! A customer should never be treated like we were treated! Idk what’s up w the new workers, but management should really figure it out before they drive everyone away! (PRICES HAVE GONE UP AS WELL) PS: Only gave 2 stars because of our waitress who was understanding. Otherwise I would’ve...
Read moreClean restaurant. Friendly staff. Super busy and crowded. Obviously the place is popular because there were hardly any parking spots and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Others waited longer, but gave up and left. Once seated, service was fast and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Food was surprisingly not uniform - it's hard to rate the food when it ranged from terrible to excellent. Eggs were overcooked. Sausage was undercooked. Home fries were practically raw. Toast and pancakes were fine. Bacon was great (even my mother-in-law was happy with her bacon and that says something). Biggest complaints: sausage and home fries and the fact that the restaurant is simply too small to accommodate the volume of people wanting in. In the interest of full disclosure, we tried them because I had a Groupon certificate ($5 for $20 of product), so it was worth a try. Otherwise, we'd have probably stuck with our usual restaurants. I did not announce the certificate until paying the check. Unfortunately, I doubt we will return. We have been to other diners recently that we liked better. I hope, though, that the cook was just having an off day. If I'd actually paid what the meal cost, as reasonable as the price is, I'd have been very upset. As it was, I couldn't see complaining for how little we did pay. We still gave the waitress a little more of a tip than usual because she was excellent - I would not expect the level of service she provided in a slow restaurant, but she was capable of that in this madhouse? Whatever she makes an hour, she...
Read moreMe and five others had spent the night in the area and found this place for breakfast. It was definitely worth finding. A couple of the girls had ordered apple cider mimosas that were so good that they asked what brand apple cider they used only to find out that they made their own apple cider which was pretty cool. I personally had an omelette with all the different Meats in it. It was packed with everything I asked for and delicious. The coffee was very good to the point that I was able to drink it black with just a little sweetener. I did not ask what brand of coffee they use though. My wife had a breakfast burger with an egg on it and french fries that she finished and inside was delicious. My other friends had various different breakfast items and everyone loved everything they had. The whole wait staff was very friendly and we could also tell that they're going along well as they were joking and laughing as they worked which was fun and made the atmosphere great. It was also a regular that came in while we were there named Bob who immediately said hello to Jennifer and the other girls so we could tell that he is there very often possibly daily. So I guess it is a great spot whether you're traveling through or you live in the area. I may add this to my yearly stop when we attend...
