A nice small place. Prices are closer to mainstream than dive/small bar. The bar seats are close to the tables and so you feel a bit in the way at the bar as ppl walk past. I just stood to get around that. I am here March 16th so there was a ST Patrick’s menu. I am a corned beef prick, spoiled by a wife who “corns” her own. So I tried to account for that in my food rating (4/5). The beef was rubbery and lacked the taste of pickling spices I expect. Knowing I’m a prick I ordered potato cheese soup to try to give an honest rating. It was a good potato soup but no cheese was obvious (garnish out otherwise). That said I assume it was a special board typo and judged as a potato soup it was good! The staff was attentive, no empty glasses! That is critical. Everyone was keeping busy. There must be a happy manager here. No leaning just cleaning. Single bathroom, small but clean. I appreciate the obvious effort of the woman that I assume is the owner or manager. She seems to care and the clientele seem to appreciate her presence. Will be back. Just wish they opened earlier than 3 so that this could be the first part of my...

Charming little place with an approachable neighborhood feel. The pub vibe speaks to me, and this place oozes it. Love the decor and the subtle statements made. It's admirable to be so welcoming when so many people are hateful and ignorant as of late.

Enough about that, though, on to the experience!

Deeeelicious! Clever menu, well executed, and the food was quick to the table. The reuben was excellent, a classic done right; crispy bread and perfect corned beef with sauerkraut and melty swiss. As a side note....... what's better than corned beef?

I'll wait... (the correct answer is "not much" in the event you were unsure)

The cheesesteak was really tasty as well, crammed full of meat and cheese, but the roll was the standout, so good! Waffle fries to go with were a big win too, don't skip these since they can double as a scoop to shovel Boxer's yummy food into your mouth with ease.

Service was attentive and kind, and it felt like we were visiting old friends. Will return when back in town for Juniata...

Out of all the times I've eaten here this last visit here was by far the worst. First we walked in and was unsure where we wanted to sit. Entire bar was open and only one table. Bartender did what I guess was a greeting by telling us we should sit at the table. Guess he didn't want us at the bar.

Onto our server. This girl couldn't care less. First thing she asked us was what do you want to drink? No hello or how are you or anything. We asked about the beer list and she told us we could go to the bar to read it on the chalkboard which we were ok with until we heard her reading the entire list to another table who was closer and in direct view. We always made sure to say thank you every time she brought something to our table and never a response. Completely acted like we were an inconvenience but I still left a nice tip just in case her attitude was based on some preconceived notion.

The food was decent and that's why I'm giving it 2 stars. I'd still say go it's a gamble but...

We have been trying to stop in for a while. Today, we managed to make our first visit. This place was great. The atmosphere was wonderful and the environment was lively. We stopped in for lunch and were very impressed. We had a chicken bacon club sandwich, Canadian bacon chicken sandwich, crab stuffed mushrooms, onion rings, and ice tea. Everything tasted great. Only thing I would have changed was to have a little larger slice of onion in the onion rings. We will definitely be back again.
