Athens West — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

Food is fantastic, unfortunately, i have a complaint. I ordered a pick up on line, and when I arrived after a few short minutes the order was ready. I asked if she remembered the extra pita and spicy feta x2,and she assured me it was in the bag. When I returned home with the order the pita and feta were not in fact, in the bag. I called to have the charges reversed and was met with a very nasty tone and refusal to do so. Instead I was told to come back and get it.....really?abandon the gyros I had already driven a few miles to get, to return to the store where I was just told in a nasty tone that they absolutely would not refund the 10+ dollars I spent on something I didn't receive? Seems counter productive and I refused stating that I would in fact take the loss and write a review based on my experience. I definitely should have checked the bag myself and will do so when ordering in the future.... my point is, check your order at the counter to avoid the same nasty...

Athens West is ok. My husband raved about this place and since we were in HB we decided to finally go. Idk if the cashier was new or the mandatory mask make it hard to communicate. (I'm gunna blame the masks) But we had to go back and forth with this guy about our order. He said it was white onion when its red onion. He put chicken when we ordered steak. Finally the lady explained some things. But then dude forgot to give us our drink. So service was eh. Then the fries were mediocre and skinny. Like over cooked and cold how does that happen? The steak had tons of fat and cartilage. The chicken wasn't too bad and the falafel and hummus were pretty good. So our service was eh and the food was eh. I will not be back. Covid note no dine in available however there is an outdoor patio near by idk how often it is cleaned but...

We eat at Athen’s West because the food is good. The customer service however, has always been dismal at best. Not today though. Today we were greeted by a cheerful, very nice helper named Arlene. She even had her nail polish matching the Grecian theme. So nice not be talked down to like usual. We love their food but my husband passes on them often because they can be so disagreeable; grumpy even. The order was right to a T and even the baklava was super fresh today. I’m not sure if there’s been a management change, but it feels like it and now we had, not only great food, but also excellent customer service. Thanks...
