I've been going to Casa Jimenez over the last 4+ years. Started going there with friends who have been Loyal Customers of over 25 years. The food and service are always on point. Don Rafael (owner), along with his wife and kids, are awesome hosts. Ruben is usually our bartender, and I have yet to order a drink or shot that he can't make. Carla's a server (she's not related to them), and she's the type of server you would want service from every visit. The in-house made chips, salsa and pico that they bring to the table almost as soon as you are seated, are scrumptious. Especially the salsa, it has a good kick. The pozole and menudo are generously served and also quite tasty. They have a good variety of dishes from oysters, ceviche, shrimp cocktails to wet burritos. I usually order the taco and enchilada plate. I have tried a few of their other dishes, all good. The chicken wings and other "finger" foods that we usually order as appetizers are quite tasty. I just truly enjoy going to Casa Jimenez or CJs as my hubby, friends and I refer to it. Never a dull moment when we're there, best is the food and...
Read moreGenerally food is O.K.+, very busy at times ("location, location"). However I was EXTREMELY disappointed this time: normally I only eat some of the chips and leave the rest in the basket, except this time at halfway down the basket I started to notice the chips felt moist, then soggy. So, perplexed, I emptied the basket of the remaining chips and to my horror, found the rest of the chips were covered with old beans and salsa and salsa drippings all in the bottom of the basket. I spoke to the owner, who was previously cleaning the restaurant's tables, and asked if they were "recycling people's leftover chips" all the explanation he gave was a "No, if you want to look at the kitchen trash can, you can find some chips"...No sorry, NOTHING! :(....It was a bad, nauseous experience, I won't be going back...I don't think I'll trust another basket if chips ANYWHERE else again without checking to see if they're someone else's "recycled chips"...or salsa bowls, for...
Read moreI noticed this place only because I parked in front of it when I went to Home Depot.
Hungry and in a hurry I figured, I would try it.
Ordered a carne Asada burrito to go.
Well. I get home and opened the bag.
Old refried oily chunks of meet. The rice and the beans did not have any flavor. Chips so old about saggy. Not Crunchy or tasteful/ cold.
A catering truck would put that burrito to shame.
I work with city inspectors and they have to take a look at this place.
I only ate a third of this awful meal and I hope I don’t get sick then we have a...
