I'm always on the look out for a great meatball sandwich. I found this place Doordashing & returned for a take out order a couple of weeks later.
The restaurant is small but tastefully decorated. Also have a tented dining area out front too. Looking around I didn't get the impression it was dirty or unsanitary. The night I ordered was a Tues. & quiet along with all restaurants that night.
I ordered a meatball sandwich. It came with a small fresh garden salad with tomatoes, onions, & cucumbers. Also perfectly cooked french fries. The sandwich was delicious! The bread was toasted, perfect amount of sauce. The meatballs were firm and tasty with melted cheese on top. My sandwich wasn't cold, nor did it get soggy. I could only finish half of it tonight.
Each order comes with a complimentary dessert (who does that anymore)! I choose cheesecake for my boyfriend. All the way around I consider the meal a good value. The personnel were extremely friendly & made you feel comfortable.
I'll be back & will refer others also. I'm suspicious of the multiple reviews with the low ratings & complaints of the area dangerous. There's homeless people everywhere these days. I didn't see anybody but if you're inside is unlikely they are going to bother you.
Sorry I forgot to take pics until halfway...
Read moreOmg - the people here are lovely and sweet and try so hard, bless their hearts. The bruschetta was fresh and plentiful and delicious - but had too much vinegar. Needed more olive oil to balance it out. Same with the salad, which seemed to be topped with Kraft parmesan sawdust. (please switch to fresh). And the lasagna looked good but - well - seemed to not taste of anything. I suggest adding olive oil, basil, fresh parmesan cheese and fresh garlic. Very happy with the moderately priced glasses of Chianti.
But the worst thing was the atmosphere. Just a box. Almost no charm. Owners - if you read this - for God's sake paint it a warm shade of orange or red, update the old stale paintings with baskets or something else, get rid of the curved harsh lighting things on the sides of the ceiling (or replace the light bulbs with SOFT WARM light bulbs), add soft Italian music and put red checkered table cloths on the tables. I bet $900 spent on the interior would improve it SO MUCH. We liked you and enjoyed our meal anyway because you were so cheerful (and thank you for the complimentary cannoli). A little sprucing up of the food and atmosphere and you'll have a line out your...
Read moreWe are so glad to be back to our favorite little Italian eatery, Piccolo Stivale. We started with a calamari fritti appetizer served with a spicy red sauce and it was cooked perfectly! A nice crisp and fresh garden salad is included with all of their entree's. She had the linguini and clams which was seasoned to perfection! I had a variation of a dish called Doc's Favorite. I had it with angel hair pasta and it was tossed with sun-dried tomatoes, fresh mushrooms and sliced spicy sausage. I had my version with the chefs signature pink sauce. Delicious is an understatement! We ended with Sicilian style cannoli's that were just lovely. Our service was spot on and our iced tea glasses were always filled which is a great sign of attentive service. We can't wait to go back again. Compliments to the Chef and his entire...
